My Toshiba 62HM95 62 in. HDTV lamp was repaired approx. 2 months ago. Now there is a clanking sound with the picture dimming. Almost like the tick tock of a clock.

Hello Miggs,

This sounds like a color wheel or cooling fan issue. I would take the set back and have them check the color wheel and fan assemblies.

I hope this helps
Thank you,

My 62hm95 will not come on now had the bulb replace four months ago worked great then nothig the red led stays on and the green one blinks what do i do now???

Some of these sets have a "quick on" feature which runs the lamp all the time and when set is shut off it dims down 60% but does not go off--this can drastically shorten life of lamp.

If you saw the picture at turn on (7 or 8 seconds) you have this feature and it is engaged----that new lamp may be history---I would also look from side/rear to see if lamp fires up even briefly---remove lamp also to make sure not shattered inside.

First of all, I replaced the lamp about 4 months ago, so it is relatively new. The Problem: The TV almost never turns on after the first try. The sound always comes on, the red light stays solid, but...

Some of these sets had a stupid feature. In the customer menu look for something called quick start.

The way you can tell if it is engaged is when you turn the set off the lamp dims but does not go out and the fans stay on all the time, clearly this feature was meant to speed up the turn on time but with it engaged when you turn the set off the lamp is still hot, if you turn it off and try to turn back on it will not function for fifteen or twenty minutes.

If you get the set to come on watch the lamp from the back and then turn the set off, does the lamp just dim down or go off? Lamp fan should run for a maximum of five minutes to cool lamp off, if it does not shut off and lamp only dims down look in the customer menu for quick start and deselect it, it is DEFAULT setting if set was unplugged.

These sets with this feature had problems where the lamp did not last two years.

Before you rate this solution let me know if you find what I described.

62HM 95 TOSHIBA. HAD THE PICTURE JUST GO BLACK THE OTHER NIGHT. I HAD A LAMP FOR IT GIVEN TO ME BY A BUDDY IT MAY BE A USED ONE NOT SURE. REPLACED BULB TV CAME BACK ON BUT PICTURE IS TO DIM TO WATCH. DONT...

These Toshiba DLP's were lemons.
There was a class action lawsuit in the US and Toshiba were forced to issue a recall on the lamps. Toshiba replaced the first lamp for free but when the lamps are burning out every 6 months at a replacement cost of $200 these tv's are expensive to run.
Sounds to me like the light engine has failed. This will probably be a $800-$1000 repair.
Scrap it and take the hit.

Picture seems to be alot darker than before. toshiba 62hm95

I just replaced a lamp in a Sony LCD projection that was just over a year old and it was bad. It was a VERY dim picture. You have a DLP but, in either case a dim or dark picture is almost always caused by the lamp.
