This is most likely the death song of the main power supply. They normally operate at frequencies well above the audible range but certain components in the process of failing can cause their oscillating frequency to shift downward into normal hearing range.
The squealing you are hearing is from a dying 'switched mode' power supply and is normally caused by a ferrite-core transformer running at the wrong frequency and complaining about it.
The problem with them is almost certain to be caused by failed or failing electrolytic capacitors (cheap to replace) but continued attempted operation could cause further damage.

This problem is common enough that any half-way competent tech with a capacitance meter could weed out the culprits pretty quick.

I'm tempted to suggest you get these repaired if they were otherwise satisfactory since the our later sets too often seem to only survive the warranty.

If I was doing the repair, I would give you an estimate of under $75. US

High pitch squeel from back pamel

It sounds like you have a shorted horizontal output or a bad flyback. I would refer you to a technician to repair the set. Unless you want to repair it yourself, you just need to have a good 45 watt soldering iron.
Let me know if you want to repair it yourself. I will try to help you and locate the parts if you want.

I hope that I have provided the correct information that will assist you in the resolution of this issue. If you have any questions, please post back with a comment to this thread.

high pitched squealing noise >> im thinking is the color wheel which will also give you the yellow color, don't know if that would also cause your screen to blank.

My rca tru flat is NFG

The high-pitched squeal usually indicates that the horizontal drive circuit has failed as a result of a dead line-output transistor. This symptom indicates that the control circuit of the main power supply is trying to over-compensate for a greater than usual secondary current. Certainly, an inspection of the line-output transistor will show that it's most likely dead. Sometimes instead of the squeal you will hear hiccups instead. Focus your attention on the horizontal circuit.

RCA F32650 won't power up/ high pitched squeel

HARRomeo, the horizontal output transistor will usually make the set have a high pitched sound, as that is the power supply being loaded down, if you habe any solid state repair experience, thats where you should start. As you should take out the transistor and measure it with an ohm meter and see if it is shorted. There are several reasons the transistor will short. Most of the time , it is the high voltage transformer also know as the flyback transformer. Also a drive problem could cause this to shprt also. In some cases the power supply itself could have a bad regulator, or a bad capacitor in the circcuit. Bottom line if you have the experience, you will need to get a schematic, and trouble shoot the sweep circuits first. if you do not have any solid state repair experienc3, Please play it safe and seek out the help of a trained repair person. Good Luck Please dont forget to rate this thread.
