Question about Hoover U5753-900 WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

I have the Hoover Windtunnel Bagless U5753 (purpleish one)

I've had it for two months and it sounds normal, however the brushes are not turning and it's not sucking anything. If I use the little hose that works but the main part does not work.

You have a broken belt. This is a very common problem. The belt is designed to break if something becomes caught in the brush roll. This is intended to protect the motor from becoming jammed and burning out. The belt is very easy to replace and your manual will explain how.

The brush on my hoover windtunnel stopped rotating. We already replaced the belt, and that did not seem to help

Check to see if the brush is frozen up. If you can not rotate it by hand you need to remove it and clean as best you can. Add a bit of WD40 at each end by the pieces that hold it onto the vacuum and turn by hand to be sure it is free. When reassembling, make sure the belt is put on so that the brush turns in the proper direction.

Brush won't turn, belts intact

even though the belt is intact it can still be stretched and not turn the brush. You can get replacement belts here:

Vacuum is hard to push when running, easy when off

I see your question is from July. I just joined Fixya this month so wasn't here to answer. If you're still looking for an answer:
It sounds like the belt is broken or stretched out so much it isn't spinning.
I would suggest replacing the belt and also check the roller brushes for wear and replace if necessary. Here is a link to an online guide with illustrations to change belt and or brushes. Hope this helps.

Hoover windtunnel U5753-900 will not start

The most likely problem is the on off switch. but it could also be related to the motor or a connection. But definitely electrical in nature. suggest to take it in for service.

Hoover Windtunnel

Sounds like you have a bad brush roll(48414115), take it out and see the the ends turn freely or not, if not, then replace it. Also check the the slots that the brush roll sits in to make sure they haven't melted. I am assuming that the motor is running, if not, then it may have froze up.
