Are you talking about the ones that are screwed into the back of the machine to stop the drum moving during transport if you are and the head is broken the only chance you have of removing is with a tap and die set as their is no way of getting to the thread to drill it out.
You can buy tap and die set from hardware store this is the only chance you have of removing it without taking the whole machine apart and i mean you will have to strip it completely to remove it but the tap and die set should remove it for you just dont buy a really cheap one as this will probably just snap aswell as they are tight to undo anyway even without a broken head let me know how you get on and if you need further help

The Hot Point washing machine has stopped agitating but does spin-what is wrong?

Hello,

The most usualthing wrong when the Hotpoint brand washer doesn't agaitate is a stripped agitater coupler,i don't see a model number in your question so i don't know if yours uses that coupler but its by far the leading thing wrong with that problem.

This youtube video will show ya how to replace that coupler, watch it and take off your agitator to see if that's the problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N26MCQKuXn0

The agitatae doesn't seem to be cycling the

The agitator is made in two parts. Upper and lower. The bottom part does the actual agitating.
The upper part is supposed to be loosely fitted. It just screws down the clothes to contact
the bottom agitator slowly.
The top part turns one way, and slips the other way. By the action of what is called "Dogs" inside
the top part. These dogs are probably worn and need to be replaced
Take the top off the agitator and there is one bolt in the middle of the agitator. use a long extension
to reach the bolt and remove it.
Pull off top agitator (keep it straight up so you don't lose the dogs_
Go to local Appliance store and ask for Agitator Dogs.
Replace Dogs exactly as they came out
When you re-assemble the top it will be loose. This is normal.
Good Luck!

How to clean the screen under the agitater

Pull the fabric softener dispenser off the agitator, reach down and pull off the white cover (has 2 ears on it), then remove the bolt holding the agitator to the shaft. It then lifts off.

Grandma's nylons wrapped around the bottom of the agitater

now you need to pull upward firmly but hard.  there are small splines holding the agitator in position. carefull if the agitator has two parts to it as there are usually plastic (dogs)inside which could spring loose if you are not careful.
