Question about JVC RC-QN2 Cassette/CD Boombox

Open Question

Volume only increases - I cannot decrease it

No matter which way I turn the control knob on the set, the volume only increases. The buttons on the remote handset still work normally. Also the times on the clock and alarm clock only increase, no matter which way I turn the knob. This is more of a problem than the volume control, because these settings are not controllable via the handset.

SOURCE: Remote control

You need to resurface the contacts. Here's how you do it:
First, disassemble the remote. Clean the black foil pads on the circuit board with rubbing alcohol. Now take a #2 pencil and a razor and shave the graphite from the "lead" onto a piece of paper (hold the blade perpendicular to the lead, this results in a finer powder). Now that you have a nice pile of powdered graphite, blot a Q-Tip into it to saturate the cotton with graphite. Rub the graphite onto the little black pads on the rubber button membrane, and be sure to apply more graphite to the Q-Tip every 2 to 3 buttons. Blow off any excess graphite. reassemble remote and test.

Whichever direction I turn the volume control knob (clock or anticlock wise), the volume always increases. I cannot turn the volume down

There's a endless volume knob who has contacts to inform if the volume increase or decrease.
It's normally produce noise and the circuit understand it like a data.
You can put a 1uF/50V capacitor in the each of 2 soldering points of the volume control to the ground (there has 3 points. One is ground and the others are live).
Best regards

My Amplifier is in good working condition, except for the volume control has gone weird Using the remote, you can increase volume, but not decrease volume. On the unit, rotating the volume control...

Cleaning the contacts may help. The volume knob should pull off. Once its off use a non-flammable contact cleaning spray to clean the contacts behind the knob.

Electronics and automotive stores should have this.

How do I increase the volume on my Nokia 1661?

There are 2 types of volume in your nokia phone that you can increase or decrease.

The first one is the ring tone volume. You can either increase or decrease your ring tone volume by pressing the menu key then go to settings, go to profile, select any desired profile go to personalise go to ringing volume, then increase or decrease by using the navigation button to the right or left.

The second way is to increase or decrease the volume of the speaker of your phone which i think is the cause of your question (this volume enables you to hear clear and loud the person on the other phone). You increase or decrease the volume by making a call, as soon as the call starts ringing, press the navigation key to right to increase the volume or to the left to decrease the volume.

How do i adjust the treb/bass?

my initial reply was...On the function button you may need to depress it for 3 seconds to activate base, treble, balance etc But
then I found this, "Rotary Volume Control: The CD receiver uses a 7-way rotary volume control that increases and decreases the volume of the stereo from 0 to 35. The rotary knob also controls other audio settings such as Balance, Fader, Bass, Mid, Treble and preset EQ settings. In addition, the rotary knob allows you to scroll through and select your music tracks when the Music Search function is activated.
Cheers, this should help ya.

Honda Civic Issue with Radio Volume Control

This is a known problem with the factory units and no, there is no fix. There is a series of checks you can do, but short of that the only option has been to replace the unit. I have included the graphic for the checks, other than that it is not fixable.
