If you look at page 16 of the user manual it tells you how to assign the devices to the optical connections. Once this is done it should work.
If you don't have the manual just type "denon avr 2802 manual" into Google and it will show a free PDF file of it. On my search it came up first!

does the unit have a setup menu button on the front panel? if so push that, watch the display, use the up, down, left, right, select buttons on the panel to navi the menu. go online and look at a pdf user manual for the unit
I recently downloaded a PDF file from Denon. Just go to the archive files and search for the model of Denon receiver you have and select download file.
