Reinstalling driver and using CanoScan

I have a new iMac with OSX.5.1 I want to use my CanoScan 9900F. I reinstalled the driver. But how do I use the scanner? Do I have to use it via the Arcsoft PhotoStudio (which will not work due to a TWAIN error message--another problem)? Can I use the scanner via Photoshop? How? I'm fairly computer savvy but can't figure out this very simple thing! HOW DO I USE THE SCANNER?

It does not recognise the scanner. Vuescan also say that no intel driver was could be found found. VUESCAN DOES NOT WORK

Is there a Canoscan D2400 driver for Mac OSX 10.6 available?

Access the manufacturer's web-site:

and click "specifications" -- there's some mention of support for various versions of Mac OS.

Does OSX 10.6 have "built-in" support, i.e., device-drivers are included, without needing any downloads from Canon's web-site?

Why won't Minolta film Scanner work with iMac and OSX 10.6.2?

I bought a secondhand, nearly new Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 a few years ago but never tried to use it until now when I tried to get it to work with my iMac running OSX 10.6.2. I uploaded the Dimage software but I cannot get it to recognise the scanner - any suggestions? Do I need to get updated drivers?

Canon lide35 won't work on new windows 7 computer despite downloading driver from Canon website, any ideas ?

Assuming you downloaded the driver from this page on Canon's website , try also downloading the latest CanoScan toolbox software if you haven't already done so. Also, if that doesn't work. Try going to the Device Manager (Start Menu > Control Panel > System > Device Manger (on left side of screen)), right click on the scanner driver and then left click on uninstall. Try reinstalling the driver to see if it takes the second time around. Use the latest driver available (most likely from the above page if that's not what you downloaded before). Let me know how you make out.

Cannot communicate with scanner (Canoscan Lide60 on Mac OSX 10.5)

I also had this problem and scoured ALL the apple forums to no avail.
Then I discovered what my problem was. I run parallels on my mac and it had nabbed my scanner as one of its USB devices! All I had to do was uncheck this device for use in the windows Virtual machine and it came back to mac. The strange thing was, I didn't use or install the scanner in the windows environment, yet parallels stole it from the macOS side.
If you have Parallels installed, I wonder how many other problems with USB connected devices could be solved by visiting it first?

Canon N650U and Mac OSX

Canon only has this scanner driver in OS9 and it will run in classic mode if you are using OSX. This $40 software will work with your scanner in OSX, but for $40 you can purchase an OSX native scanner too.

Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 Flatbed code 39

Did the message say:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Download the Delete driver application from Canon's website and run it. After deleting this and rebooting, try installing again.
