I dont have a getting started cd for my xda orbit 2. i need to download photos to my laptop, where can i download the software for my laptop? thankyou

Here is a link to a pdf format user guide for your handset. It should help you out. :)
You will need a pdf viewer to read it obviously like Adobe acrobat.
But the 02 Orbit or HTC orbit as that is who makes it is a windows based handset so should be able to sync with a windows PC fairly simply. You will need Windows Mobile Device Centre that you can download from the Microsoft website. >>>HERE<<<

Any way here is your link... >>>HERE<<<

Hopefully you should be up and running in no time. :)

Hello, if you have already tried loading the ROM from the SD Card (presumably you did download the NBH file of the ROM to the SD card first??!) then your phone cannot be repaired software-only - it will probably need hardware replacing or repairing - it would most likely be more cost effective to buy a new phone and sell your old one on eBay for spares.

It sounds like you've had problems writing a custom ROM to your phone. You have done it correctly using the CID unlock. Are you using the same WM6 ROM that you have done before?

Firstly, turn off your XDA Orbit.
Then hold down the voice recorder button on the left side of the phone
Then press and hold the power button on the right side of the phone, whilst still holding the voice button on the left.

This should get you into "bootloader mode" which will display a screen with red, green, blue and white stripes - yu should now be able to instlal your ROM using the RRU from the computer with USB connection

If that is not possible, you can install the ROM from a microSD card if you first format the card into Fat32 file system from your computer, then copy the NBH file from your ROM to the microSD card. You will need to rename the NBH file from the ROM to ARTEIMG.NBH for this to work.

Enter bootloader mode and you should see a prompt to press the volume button downwards to start the ROM installation process.

See this page for more information on the MicroSD ROM installation:

Driver for O2 xda orbit

All you need for this phone to get it working on a Windows Laptop (Windows XP or Windows Vista) is the Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 software (for windows XP) which you can download from this link:

If you use Windows Vista then you can use the Windows Mobile Device Centre to achieve the same thing.
