Headphones are built to resist most drops but it depends on the force of the drop and on to what they drop.
To repaire you need to look inside the one that doesn't work, to see what is wrong. So first remove the ear cushion of the offending side. Then you should see small screws. Remove these and the top should come off. You should be able to see the problem. If it's the speaker itself, you will need to get a replacement from either the maker, or a service center for the brand. Some repair shops will order the part for you for a fee.
The ear pad should just pull off with some effort. If you find more foam underneath peal it off if glued, you can reglue it on afterwards.

The passenger floor carpet of my 2000 passport is wet but I don't know where the leak could be. nothing else in the cabin is wet, particularly the areas directly above the floor carpet

You did not indicate what sort of climate you live in or exactly where the carpet in the cabin was most wet...

However, the most common source of water inside a car is a clogged HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) drain tube. This tube provides drainage for water condensing on the AC evaporator and any water that enters the HVAC system during rain storms. If the tube is clogged with dirt and debris the water drips from underneath the dash where the heat vents are ... onto the floor instead of dripping onto the road. So usually the wettest place on the carpet is the front passenger foot well.

The drain tube is generally located on the firewall, low on the passenger side. You would probably have to raise the car to see/reach it. I am not sure exactly where the Passport one is ... they can be hard to find at times.

Other possible sources of water are a clogged sunroof drain tube, leaking window seals, torn or missing door seals, and clogged door drain holes.

Also ... buildup of debris (pine needles/leaves) where the windshield wipers retract in to can also block those drains which can sometimes cause overflow into the passenger compartment.

After you find and eliminate the source of the water you will have to lift the carpet and remove the padding underneath in order to dry it. The padding holds water like a sponge and will not dry unless it is removed from the vehicle. Shop vacs won't get the water out of the padding. Even if the carpet feels dry the padding underneath may still be wet, and that is where mold and mildew grows.

Dropped camera shutter doesn't work but video does

Did you remove the battery and replace it after a few moments? this will "reboot" the camera, like a cold boot from a computer. Then try again. I can't believe a landing on the carpet would cause mechanical problems, but you never know.
Could be just a setting, and that will be restored after the boot.

Test heater core

Robert,
Using a cooling system pressure test tool to pressurize the entire cooling system, a heater core will leak into the HVAC [heater, ventilation and air conditioning] box [located under the dash board]. Once coolant leaks into this box, it will either drop onto the carpeting on the passenger side front floor OR drip out the condensate tube [where the A/C condensate water leaks out under the truck] The condensate tube is a rubber pipe located on the lower end of the passenger side firewall.
Leakage into the passenger carpet [most common place for it to leak] will appear as a wet carpet.
If heater core replacement is required, do yourself a favor. Buy and install a new A/C evaporator [located in the HVAC box with the heater core] at the same time. This is a big job to do. No sense replacing the heater core now, only to have the A/C evaporator fail next summer, forcing you to repeat all that labor [8 hours for a pro mechanic who knows what he is doing].

Where are the chassis drain plugs on a 2003 Pontiac bonneville? My car leaks in the trunk and onto the floor on the front passenger floor

Your trunk leak most likely is rubber seal that runs the perimeter of trunk when trunk lid is open. Leak on pass floor can be a combination of things. Heater core or if car has sunroof, there is drains that run down windshield posts. Carpet will be wet and sticky if heater core is leaking (not to mention coolant level low) If it's sunroof drain, car has to be put on a lift and drains blown out with compressed air.

Zoom lens will not open - camera will not open

Drop the camera onto a carpeted floor from about a foot and a half to two feet. I did this once when my DSC-H50 had the same problem and it immediatly began to work again. It landed just on the fron edge of the cylinder around the edge. I left the lens cap on. Many people have had this same problem with other sony models and it works well for them as well. I know it sounds far fetched which is why I am including this link: http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/sony-cybershot-dscp200_question.html?qid=3653

That is where i found the information to fix the same problem you are experiencing.

My MV800 ejects with message "remove the cassette". I have tried both old tapes and brand new one but same message.

I READ THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM THIS MORNING ON THIS WEBSITE, BUT I CAN NO LONGER FIND IT.

THE SOLUTION SUGGESTED DROPPING THE CAMERA ON TO A CARPETED FLOOR FROM HALF A METRE HIGH AS A FIX.

THERE WAS ALSO A POSTING FROM A GUY WHO HAD FOLLOWED THIS ADVICE AND IT FIXED HIS CAMERA.

SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW SUIT AND I DROPPED THE CAMERA ON TO A CARPETTED FLOOR FROM HALF A METRE HIGH AND WHEN I TRIED IT WITH THE TAPE IT WORKED, NO JOKE, THIS IS AN HONEST AND TRUTHFUL REPORT.

Its possible that it may be blocked in the foot of the vaccum. try going through your instruction manual to locate details on how to disassemble the suction brush and connecting ducts. If you dont have one then use this link to download it. http://ubermanuals.com/node/1870
