  • kealen byrd May 11, 2010

call autozone they will tell you.

  • iwade Jun 20, 2014

Nope. Gap for a 1998 Kia sephia is between 0.28 and 0.32. Though the pugs come gapped at 0.44, they will not function properly. You will experience rough idle and hesitation on warm.

Though the plugs come gapped at 0.44, the correct gap for the 1998 Kia Sephia is between .028 and.032. If they are installed at 0.44, the Sephia will have a rough idle and experience annoying hesitation. You must adjust the gap before installing the plugs in this car.

Rough idle when i start my car and then when i press the gas peddle stalls out

Bet if you put a code reader on it it would come up misfire. You might consider checking your spark plugs. We have gotten 3 Kia's in the last 3 years, all with same problem. And every time the plugs were original equipment and wayyyy out of gap, etc. Bought new, gapped them correctly and problem sovled.

Just did a complete tuneup, idles good , hesitates when you give it gas

Hey there!
I'm going to post this as an answer, but...I suspect that the problem is the spark! Not that you don't have spark but the spark plu gap may not be set correctly. Note they don't come pre-gapped from the manufacturer. You may want to pull the plugs, ( one at a time as not to miss place the firing order for reinstallation of the leads ). Measure what it was and set them to fac. spec. ( 0.xx? ). A guess but probably 0.42". I am suspecting you will measure it at 0.65" too much!!

If that that turns out for you please let me know. ASH

My car can not run smoothly now. It just happened when i changed the spark plugs

By the sound of it you have a problem like the Plugs
you fitted were either the gap was either to big or to small so remove them again and recheck the gaps and set to 25 thou (thats about the same thicknessas the thickness of a tissue box) and also check the plug leads {dont put any lead to anyother plug than the one it goes to.
Firing order is 1342 in that order.
