What's your problem? It's stuck on logging off

There are many things that might cause your PC to run slowly or restart at time and then. It could be a fragmented disk; fragmented registry; a virus, Trojan, or spy ware; high CPU and/or utilization due to too many programs running; high disk I/O; or something else.

To check your CPU and memory utilization, run Task Manager. You can start Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and then clicking on the Task Manager Button. In Task manager, click on the Performance tab and check CPU Usage and PF Usage. PF Usage is an indicator of memory usage. If one or both of these is high, click on the Processes tab, and sort the columns by CPU or Memory to see what processes are consuming the resource. If you are not sure what the process "Image name" is for, Google the name and you should find what the process is for.

Cpu usage runs high

1st Go on your start menu and enter the programs, if you have
Windows 7 : type - "msconfig"
Windows Vista - "run" then type "msconfig"
Windows Xp - "run" then type "msconfig"
("Run" might have diferent names depending on your language)

Here disable every thing that you dont want to start up at the start of your computer here is a short list:
- iTunes - Steam - Windows Live Messenger
- Microsoft Office - Adobe (every one of them)
- Microsoft windows sidebar
you can check where they are under "Command" find the path and stop the programs you dont want to start every time you start your computer.
Personaly i have disabled everything that isn't a windows program or a server program.

here is a guide i made for increasing Preformence:

I am not really sure if this caused by the fan performance, but I can confirm that my laptop dell inspiron 1420 is very hot after running about 1 hours.. and often my CPU usage reach 100% when I use Vista...

First, I appreciate the details provided in your question. Thanks!
The specification of your laptop are fine and enough to run and support Vista. It is true that greater number of processes and CPU usage causes, but normally the machine can handle it well if it gets proper ventilation.
Laptop heating issue generally occurs due to fan failure, which may damage the system, if not checked properly. Another cause of overheating is the dust present inside the laptop, which clogs the fan and heatsink. I suggest that you should get you laptop checked by a professional for servicing (if required). I believe immediate action is required to prevent any damage to your machine and data.

Hope it Helps! Let me know if i could be of any further assistance.

CPU usage very high, mouse very slow man

you haven't mentioned whether your mouse started moving after you deleted the applications..
Anyway to lower your CPU usage, you can do the following...
1. Run 'msconfig' without the inverted comas in the run dialog box. ( start--> run )
2. Select the startup tab... you can disable all application at startup to load the system faster. or you can select the application that you thing is unnecessary. this needs a restart.
3. Next try to press Ctrl, Alt , Del at the ssame time to launch the task manager. First you will be seeing the application that is running. Go to the next tab that is the Processes tab. under this you will see all the processes that is running and utilsing how much resources . Below on the status bar of that window you will see the cpu usage... Now identify the processes that has the highest memory usage... right click and select end process tree. the process will be stopped. Remember not to end the explorer.exe process. Most resources is utilised by Anti-virus softwares like norton, also by web-browsing and graphics opertaions....

hope to get rated as fixya!!
