I have a JVC LT-37X776, I have bought a blu ray player and it does not seem to recognise it on HDMI channel works through component but kind of defeats the point of buying a hd players if you are not going to view via hdmi. I also have a normal upscaling dvd player whihc plays fine through hdmi So i have no idea why it won't work.

2005 mitsubishi tv

I'm assuming that your new blu-ray player only has an HDMI port and your TV does not. In that case, does your tv have a component cable output? This should be five plug-in ports (red, white, red, green, blue). Amazon sells an HDMI to component adapter that you can buy here: http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-538581-HDMI-Cable-5-Feet/dp/B005QWH4QA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382102257&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi+to+component+cable

Can not get my hd channels to work. other tv in house also with hd channels works fine. regular channels working but the hd chanels are not working. not sure what to adjust or why.

You can't change the resolution on the television itself. You change the resolution on whatever you have connected to the television. Let's say it's a cable box or a blu ray player you've got connected to the television. First off you have to connect it to the television with a component (green, blue, red, white, red) cable or an hdmi cable. Then you make sure it is only connected to the television with either a component cable or an hdmi cable. This may sound ridiculous but there are some people that have their cable boxes and blu ray players connected to their televisions three different ways ( an hdmi cable, a composite cable, and a component cable) when they only need to have it connected one way.
Select the proper input on the television. Set the cable box or blu ray player's resolution to 1080i or 1080p (in the case of the blu ray player if it the tv will allow it).

Your ps3 could be in component mode. You will have to hook it back up on component mode, and go to the ps3 menu and change the setting to hdmi.

No owners manual can't get new blue ray dvd player to work on tv

Here is the manual:
http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/JVG%20HD52G56G.pdf

When using the HDMI connections you may have to tell the DVD to output to that port.  Also you may have to connect additional sound cables from the DVD output to the TV.

PS3 not working on 42'' JVC via HDMI cable port

I have the PS3 and this TV and it works....Try this.

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect HDMI from TV to PS3
3. Select the correct HDMI input on the TV for the PS3(important)
4.Turn OFF PS3 if it is ON.
5. hold [I/O] Power button on PS3
6. Wait about 5 second and you should get the "HDMI Detected" or some similar message.
7. Configure the HDMI output for the PS3

Also, If you set the PS3 to "auto" for hdmi, it may set the resolution to 1080i. You may want to deselect everthing but the 1080P.
