Question about Tomtom One Europe v2 GPS Receiver

Screen reads"no maps found"

Downloaded new voices. Updated software. Unplugged GPS from computer. When starting up again in my car the screen reads " No maps found". Can I retrieve the lost info?

Hi,

Did you try to master reset the device? Are you the map files placed in the right folder?

I found this article online, and it may work for you:

"Ok this has worked on at least four tomtom one’s
And one xl’s that i have tried,
First of all connect your tomtom to your computer.
making sure your online,Go to log on.
if you’ve not created an account create one now.
If you’ve had to create an account restart tomtom home.


You should have the tomtom home screen in front of you,
Now even if tomtom home is showing you logged in, ignore
this click your email adderss in the top right hand side of the screen
and log in again and click continue.
Then click Device/disconnect device.
Now your tomtom will update itself and your maps will be restored"

Usually, you'll want to connect a new TomTom GPS to your computer, and (using TomTom HOME), register the device and get the latest maps (downloaded and) installed on your GPS.
Then, you'll have maps on your GPS.

The voice on my garwin nuvi 1300 gps stopped working and it is not mutted


Either the voice file is corrupted or not selected.
1. To select a new voice:
  • Press TOOLS (Bottom right corner of the screen with WHERE TO and VIEW MAP)
  • Press SETTINGS
  • Press LANGUAGE
On this screen there are 3 items including VOICE. Press VOICE and select ENGLISH if it's not already selected. If that doesn't solve the problem the English voice file is probably corrupted and needs to be downloaded again.
2. To replace the corrupted voice file:
  • Download and install, to your computer, the latest version of WEBUPDATER from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27
  • Connect your satnav to your computer and run the webupdater program.
  • It will find any updates to the satnav operating system. Select all and install them.
  • When the updates are installed webupdater will find optional updates including voice files. Select some of the English voice files and download them.
When they are downloaded safely disconnect your satnav and re-start it. You will then need to select one of the voices you downloaded as described in paragraph 1 above. This should solve your problem.

I attached my Nuvi 255W gps to my computer to register it and purchase new maps since mine were out of date. I downloaded the new software update after which the unit upon booting up said "no detailed...


When you went to TOOLS did you press SETTINGS and then MAPS and at the bottom of the screen MAP INFO.

When you press map info if the maps are still installed they should appear there. If there's not a tick beside the map name then it's unselected. Pressing the map name gets it selected again and could solve the problelm.

If you do need to download the maps again it may be possible, depending on how long it's been since they were downloaded or updated. (Usually it's possible for around 6 months after they were originally downloaded.)

  • Go to www.garmin.com and click the myGarmin tab at the top of the page. Log in using your username and password.
  • Click on the myMaps tab at the top of the screen and you should see your maps displayed.
  • Under your latest update you should see in blue writing a link called DETAILS
  • Click on the link and then at the next screen click on DOWNLOAD AGAIN
When you're following the prompts you'll come to one which gives you the option to download to the Satnav, Satnav and computer or Computer. Select Computer or satnav and computer. Then if you have a problem again with the map it will be easier to install it from your computer. If you find that your map cannot be downloaded again buying a new update, if there's one available should solve the problem.

If it's locked on the main screen and won't load, follow the below process.
If you want to unlock maps, you need to buy a key or update here:

How do i change the voice


  • Press TOOLS (the spanner symbol on the bottom right corner of the screen with WHERE TO and VIEW MAP
  • Press SETTINGS (The spanner symbol) or LOCALE on some models (The blue symbol)
  • Press LANGUAGE (the lips symbol)
This will take you to a screen with 3 items: VOICE, TEXT LANGUAGE and KEYBOARD

To change the voice press VOICE and select the one you want.

You can add voices by downloading WEBUPDATER from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27
Connect your satnav to your computer and run webupdater. It will search for software updates. Afterwards it will give you the option to download extras including extra voices. When they're downloaded and you have disconnected your satnav from your computer you can select one of the new voices as described above.

I just upgraded to 2009 US maps and the GPS voice has worked once


I had the same problem. I had to have the dealer reload the GPS software once I got back to the states. It took two tries, but once actual GPS software was updated with the U.S. software version it worked find.

No voice during navigation


Have you tried to reset everything to Factory state? Both GPS and System? If it doesn't help then restore Sanyo map software from supplied DVD. Something must be missing or corrupted.
