Is The light Blinking or Steady on?
Assuming the new toner realy IS new, and it has a new and not faulty chip. The same error light is used for 'Replace Drum unit'.
If your printer has a count of 30,000 + (a test print will show lots of info including the pagecount), and you have never rplaced the drum unit, then that's what will fix your problem. Your replacement drum unit should include instructions on how to reset the drum count.
Beware of just resetting it and continuing to use your old drum. These units have a tiny waste toner collection chamber, and they can fill earlier than the 30,000 page rated life (depending on the toner you use - some are more efficient than others. If it becomes over-full waste toner will fall into the printer, end up on the paper, and generally cause problems.

This model has an operator panel with six lights and two buttons. It has Cancel button, Continue button, Ready/Data, Toner Low, Load/Remove Paper, Paper Jam and Error light. We would like to know which light on the panel has a red light.
