Scroll down to the - Guides and Manuals heading. Below this heading at the bottom of the box, there is - Getting Started
MX320_GS_EN_US_V1.pdf ,in red. Click on this.
You may not see anything happening for up to 20 seconds. I downloaded it just now for a test, (To make sure it's working), and I had to click MX320_EN_US down in my system tray, at the bottom of the monitor.
Pages 3, 4, and 16 tell, and show how to hook up the cabling.
Essentially you are attaching the phone line to be able to use Fax, attaching the power cord for power to the MX320, and attaching the
USB cable from the MX320 to the computer.
You MUST set the MX320 up first, and MUST install the software first, BEFORE attaching the USB cable.
(The USB cable plug end, that goes into the computer is Flat.
It is a USB A male plug.
The USB cable end that goes into the MX320 is Not flat.
It is a USB B male plug. Square shape with the top two corners cut off.
This USB B plug goes into the back of the MX320. In the middle of the back there is an inset, or indention. The plug goes in sideways.
Should you have attached the MX320 to the computer with the USB cable, BEFORE you installed the software from the Installation CD, let me know.
[1.Make SURE the MX320 does not have the USB cable plugged into it!
Turn the MX320 off, and unplug from power.
2.Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, and Remove theCanon software. All of it. Anything you see listed with Canon relatingto the MX320.
3.If it asks you to restart your computer, do so. If it does not, do so anyway.
4.After Windows has fully loaded, insert the Canon MX320 Installation CD disk. Install the software. If it asks you to restart your computer do so, if not restart it anyway.
5.After Windows has fully loaded, plug the MX320 into power. Press the Power On button. Give the MX320 time to set itself up.
Now plug the USB cable into the MX320.
