Question about Casio EXILIM EX-Z1000 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Battery/Docking Station The camera was working fine. No, I did not drop it nor has it gotten wet. I had recently gotten back from vacation and put the camera on the docking station. I extracted some photos put them on my computer. Then proceeded to just let the camera charge. After a few days I went to go and use the camera again, but it would not power up. I get nothing from it. Now, I went on Amazon and bought an equivalent battery to replace the Casio one. The camera worked. So I put it on the docking station and then assumed to just leave it there. Now the camera does not work. I was trying to find a replacement docking station to see if that was the issue. Of course the "charge" light doesn't come on at all on the docking station after observing it this time around. It won't allow me to use the USB cord to extract photos or anything of the sort. I just don't understand how 2 perfectly good batteries could have gone bad just because of the docking station. Suggestions or links to buying a new docking station with battery?

same problem as the previous post on docking station/battery/charger. No battery charge light, no charging of battery.New battery installed still no charging.

Same conditions, not exposed to water or mishandled, camera dead

Without the expense of purchasing a new charger assy at circa £40, can anyone tell me what is likely to be the fault, camera or charger assy?

Same problem. Bought another docking station. Tried using my camera now and it is dead. No light no nothing from the docker. It must discharge the battery when it is dying. This is a very poor design. No other way to charge it??? I can't keep buy docking stations - should I just toss a perfectly good camera? Casio is really no help.

It seems like my docking station won't charge non-Casio batteries.

Why wont my HP photosmart R967 turn on battery is new and docking station is fine but it will turn on if connected to docking station

It is likely the battery is not making contact properly or is not getting fully charged.
Check the instructions on battery connection on page 9 and confirm the lights are blinking correctly to show battery is charging.

Red flashing light on battery indicator on the loading dock.

My Z760 does the same thing. When that happens I run the battery completely down by taking pictures until it shuts down. Then when I put it on the dock it charges properly. Don't leave your camera on the dock all the time and don't try to always keep the battery fully charged--instead it will develop memory and think it needs to be fully charged to run and will give you a low battery signal earlier than it should. Wait until you actually get a low battery signal before charging and it should help, but mine will still give me the red light sometimes. Then I run the battery out like I said before. I hope this information helps. :-)

Camera won't charge

Hi!

It's a problem with the battery. It already reached it's life cycle. I had the same problem with my 15 month old casio camera a year ago - flashing red light on docking station. I even tried borrowing a docking station/charger to see if something else is wrong with it.

The only solution for this is to have the battery replace.

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Charging Camera

I would test the docking station first. Do you have a way of charging the camera without using the docking station?

Thought I'd ask because some can and some can't.

Docking station

I had the same problem. I did need to take the clear plastic insert off but then I had to put a rubber band around the dock and camera (more on the left of the camera and dock) to hold it evenly on there since the camera was leaning on the right and wasn't charging for me. Now it charges as soon as I put it on there with the rubber band with no blinking red light anymore! Hope this helps!

Kodak DX4330 shuts down

Unscrew some of the screws (the ones you can manage to remove), press on the little connector on the bottom, put some batteries in and try it. When I put the batteries in, it worked for me, and so I screwed it back up, and it's continued working pretty much. I think something might have gotten loose on these cameras. I thought mine was through, but it seems to work now!

Docking and charging digital camera

Not sure if this will help, but you might try removing the batteries from camera, then see if it responds on the dock, if so it is most likely bad battery. That battery should be easy enough to find at locally. You might wanna try the Interactive Troubleshooter on Kodak's site. http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn030483.jhtml?pq-path=6861

Kodak DX6440 won't power up using batteries

There's a chance that the drop is irrelevant to your problem. You could try using a small eraser to clean the battery contacts down in the chamber (make sure to dump out any eraser particles) and try a new CRV-3 battery, which because of it's slightly longer body produces a little more pressure on the contacts. If that doesn't work to improve things then your cam might need a repair, your call there. Good luck
