Question about Samsung 793S 17" CRT Monitor

Monitor screen movement

I am using a nvidia geforce 7200s with my samsung sync master 793s and when i am using the system the task bar where the start button is moves upward and after sometime comes again back to its original position.its irritating.however it does not move too much but a slight movement also troubles me

Do you mean the taskbar disappears and comes back if you hover the pointer where it should be?

If so, try this:

Right click on the taskbar, choose "properties", and make sure "auto-hide the taskbar" isn't checked.

If that doesn't work, try the F11 key.

This is a very common problem with nVidia geforce 8400 and 8600 cards.
Serach google with this "Defective Nvidia geforce card" and you will see lots of user facing same problem in HP, Dell etc..

I too have an Hp laptop with nvidia geforce 8400. I have faced similar problems(screen got divided into 8 parts) in past for 3 times. Every time I have to replace my motherboard at HP service center.... It is caused by overheating of laptop that destroys the nvidia graphic card.
Go to the service Center and ask for a motherboard replacement.

sounds like yo had the same Problems that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the monitor cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is running with your card you can also see that from the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped install the driver first then disable download latest drivers here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us

The i need to disconect somthing because i cant see anithing wen i conect the port to the card but wen i buthem back to normal i see my monitor

Have a new 23 inch samsung monitor that requires res 1920x1080


The problem is the cable connection to the video card.
When using the DVI output of the FX 5500, the maximum screen resolution that you can select is 1280 x 1024.

But, if you use the Analog (VGA) output, the card will support resolutions up to 2048 x 1536, which should be ok.

Samsung Syncmaster 245BW sync problem


If you are plugged into a NVIDIA graphics card, use the NVIDIA control panel scaling option to "do not scale" then set the resolution to 1920x1080. This monitor is a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of 16:9 like HD TV's, so it is necessary to turn of scaling from the software and thus give black bars.
