Mine was doing the same thing I found out that the music was in windows media and did not work and some was copy writed music. I found if I can get it copied to a cd and run it on real play under mp3 then put it on my MP3 it work then it does take a little work but I did like it. I did the Harry Potter books on cd that way. I had the cd s but I had to use Real Play to download.

Hi, I would be very thankful if you help me. I have a brand new Mp3 Memorex 8590 and have added around 50 songs and it shows when playing one song on the display 1 of 1, and once the song is over, the...

It seems your new mp3 player memory is already full, you need to delete other files or songs before you added another. If it is not yet full, try to delete and reinstall other songs. Be sure the file songs you added has no error on it.
That the only things you will do, the mp3 player operate normally and trouble come as you add new songs, don't overload it, as it's built in memory will fail.
Thanks for asking.

I have no sound on ipod during music playback and have done the 5 basic troubleshooting steps to no avail

Does the song play, or does it just keep skipping to the next song (does it show the song has length or not). If so it might be a dirty headphone jack.

Okay, fist, you need to make sure the player is good (boots up, goes to menu, etc.). next, you need to put all of the songs into media player, then SYNCH them to the player. If you can't do that, try putting all of the songs into a folder called "music" and then put them into a subfolder called "albums." it should work shortly afterwards.
