Question about Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. LCD HDTV
Recently, my Sharp Aquos television has started blacking out while playing games (using Input 3) and watching DVDs (using Input 2). The top third of the screen starts flickering white and then the entire screen goes black and doesn't come back. I can get the picture back by just turning the television off and then on again, however the blacking out becomes more frequent the more the television stays on. It seems to do it most when the screen starts to fade to black during scene changes on DVDs, or during loading times for games. However, after about a couple hours of this it just starts doing it randomly. This problem does not occur while watching normal television. Have you heard of this problem, and is there a solution?
A friend and I both have the LC-32D64U Aquos sets with the same problem. They came with firmware version S0804171.
Installing (reverting?) to firmware S0801101 on Sharp's website resolved these issues.
If this does not help, the component board needs to be replaced.

Try to replace the main digital board.
