Question about Epson EX70 LCD Projector

2 Answers

I am in Barbados and have a slide show presentation with a DVD on the Mac notebook pro. I did not realize the plug and play feature of USB2 would not work. I can use a PC, a DVD player (stand alone},or VGA with the Mac. What is the best choice for quality of presentation? I do not want to sacrifice the wide screen aspect lost.

Will look for these connectors. If unavailable what is another choice?
I am pressured by time and location to find the most simple solution. I can borrow a PC or use Dvd player as a back up. The presentation has been converted to a iMovie and burned to DVD. Thanks for the help

VGA with the Mac is good option.
the connections are as follows:--
Go up, not down. Go for the HDMI. You need either a mini-DVI to HDMI adapter or, if they do not make those, a mini-DVI to DVI adapter, and then either a DVI to HDMI adapter or DVI to HDMI cable (they make those).
------
With VGA, you will be able to display the full resolution of unit with no borders and use the audio input for the unit. Be warned though, you need a 15 pin VGA cable to support high resolutions. you get above 1200x800 with a standard VGA cable.
you can get required cables from
www.radioshack.com
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

Hi.

You can use a firewire to HDMI cable, firewire on MAC, HDMI on Epson projector:

SIIG - Video cable - Male 19 pin HDMI Type A to M 18 pin digital DVI

Alternatively you can connect one of the two DVI out on Mac to HDMI:

XtremeMac HDMI to DVI Video Cable (6.5 ft)

No other solution, the signal does not travel on the air, you need a cable.

You can also use a composite adapter, but that will be more difficult to find.

I think I gave link for international sellers, they ship in Barbados.

After receiving bad feedback the question will be relocated to a different expert.

    Goodbye.

DVD players can be picky with the type of file format that they use. According to an amazon.com review of this player, it does read DVD+RW/+Rs & DVD-RW/Rs so the problem probably resides in your file format.

The problem is probably the fact that the DVD Player does not recognize the file format of your Mac slide show. The computer recognizes this format, as it plays the slide show. The DVD player recognizes JPG file formats, which is the standard format of a picture.

If a DVD is made with JPG Files, not your slide show files, it will display thumbnails of each picture, allowing the choice of what picture to view.

If the slide show is a must, try to save it to a video file format, such as a *.mpg or *.avi which are common video file formats. These files would be movies of the slide show that you have made.
