Question about Sony Dual Shock 3 Controller for PlayStation 3

My Dual Shock 3 controller won't connect with the system

My Dual Shock 3 controller won't connect with the PS3 system wirelessly. When using the USB cable, it works fine, but as soon as I unplug it, all four LED lights start flashing, indicating an empty battery. However, I've recharged the controller fully several times and it still won't work.

Go into you accesory settings and change the controllers designation, change it to number 1, it will get changed from time to time cuz of drums or guitars being designated as no 1(especially mic's).

if this is a woireless controller, it means that the controller needs to be charged. If this occurs when you have the controller connected to the PS3, it means either the USB cable you are using is bad or the rechargable battery in the controller is dead.

Can't connect orb controller to ps3

Plug the dongle in to the USB port, turn on the PS3 and the LED will flash a lot (as if you've pressed the connect button), then press L3 and SELECT together for 3 seconds; it'll then connect. Then press the PS button.
As long as you keep the dongle plugged in, the controller will not disconnect and won't need pairing again.

Have you recently tried using the controller for a different system.

If so, you will need to get a safety pin or something similar to press the little 'reset' button on the back of the controller. Once you press this button, connect the controller using the USB cable and you should be ok.

If this doesn't work, your wifi card has gone bad and will need to be replaced.
To check your wifi card, which controls everything wireless, try connecting your PS3 to wi fi. If you can connect then your card is good. If not, then you will need to have it replaced. Good luck.

This usually happens when the controls have lost most of their power.
Try leaving your controller plugged in (charging)overnight or for like 2 hours. (Controls only charge with the PS3 ON).

Hook them up directly with the usb cable you use to charge them with to the system you want to link them to and press the PS button to turn them on.

Need wireless controller with vibration mode

they don't have it. the dual shock 2 has it. but thats a ps2 controller. the dual shock 3 is a six axis controller, sony opted for six axis instead of vibration. if your lucky you may be able to find a setup to use a dual shock 2 setup to use with an wireless adapter for the ps3. good luck with that one though.
