Question about Viper Security and Remote Start System (basic install included)

My viper alarm(350HV) wont lock/unlock the doors, nor when i hit the power door lock switch on both passenger and driver-side doors but i hear the relay clicking in the background, can't tell if it's the relay or the alarm.

SOURCE: driver's door won't unlock with remote

This may be a problem with wiring. I will need to know what the make and model is of the car. Also keyless entry system stock OEM or was that an option you have added? Lastly, did you install this system or was this installed by a cetified DEI corperation?

SOURCE: viper works but remote start and keyless entry does not

On the remote start part, it might be as simple as relearning the tach. To do this, crank the car with the key, press and hold the valet switch until the led lights and stays solid now release.Try the remote start. Need to know what kind of car to comment on doorlocks.

the alarm is in valet mode .open a door press lock unlock lock on the remote and it should take it out of valet mode

Well, the problem is that the remotes don't just lose programming from a simple battery swap. Either the original installer ran a separate power source to the battery for the unit and the repair shop just didn't hook it up or when they installed the new battery or if your car was jumped to get it started it may have blown the fuse for the security system. So bring it back to the installer or put the car in valet mode.

Door locks unlocks


Sounds like the main wiring loom into the door has been damaged.
Check near the hinges, where the door swings, to see if any damaged wires. Does the door lock and unlock from the drivers side switch?

Viper remote won't open door lcks


Does the remote diarm the alarm? Do you hear the " chirp chirp" when you press the unlock button on the remote? If not, then the remote is defective or needs to be reprogrammed to the alarm. If you do hear the " chirp chirp" but, the doors do not unlock, then the issue is with either the wiring from the alarm or the vehicles power locks. Did it work before? Do you have power door locks?

I went to unlock the driver side door of my 91 acura legend and i guess i set factory alarm off.i do not have original key and my car wont start.. help p[lease!!!!!


The alarm must of activated , the alarm is controlled by the locks, go to passenger door and use the key to lock and then unlock the door, this will shut down alarm, you may have to use the passenger door to shut down alarm due to a bad switch in drivers door, this will allow you to start the car, you can also not lock door and alarm may not arm. let me know if the passenger door lock works, good day.

My 350hv just shuts off randomly. I can arm it and come back later and it is off and my doors are unlocked!


Sorry, but it is my opinion that car alarms are really, really foolish.
Cars are extremely hostile environments for delicate electronics.
Adding alarms is begging for problems that will leave you without a car.
If you lock any valuables in the trunk, out of sight, there is no reason for an alarm. All an alarm will do is either fail and prevent you from driving, or fail and get you a ticket for a false alarm.

Disable viper alarm


Yes the best way is disarm the alarm and put in a Valet Mode
To activate the Valet Mode do the following:

There is a push button or toggle switch to disable the alarm (to engage the valet mode). Without knowing where this
switch is you won't be able to disconnect the alarm.

1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position.
2. Flip the toggle or hold the push button for at least 5 seconds.
3. The LED. light will stay solid on.
4. Turn the ignition off
5. Release the push button. If you have a toggle leave it alone in step 2

Drivers Door Lock Problem


Press the passenger side door lock button. if the driver side door unlocks now but wont unlock when you hit the driver side door lock button, it is usually a network communication problem with the B CAN or a faulty Body Control Module.

Wont go off


Try unlocking from the passenger door. Some of these had a key cylinder switch on the back of the lock cylinder which deactivates the alarm. If it works ok from passenger side then the switch inside driver door would need replaced

Viper 4806v won't program I am trying to install a viper 4806v two-way remote start/keyless entry in my automatic 2004 toyota camry LE 4cyl. I got the lock/unlock, horn, lights to work, and trunk pop to work. I can't seem to get the remote start to work. When I press the remote start button on the remote keypad, the car does not start and the headlights flash 7 times. Troubleshooting says 7 flashes mean a manual transmission mode error. This means I have to enter programming menu 3 and change the starter to automatic mode. When I follow the directions to get to menu 3, nothing happens because I cannot get to menu 3 when I hold down the control button after turning the ignition off. In other words, the control button is not working. The neutral switch is on like it is supposed to be. Kind of bummed about this. Could use some guidance. My wiring goes accordingly and this car does not have an immobilizer because I used a regular metal key to start it. This car has no alarm, just a stock keyless entry, trunk release, and panic button. Again, the problem is :The remote start comes in default manual transmission mode so I have to switch it to automatic transmission mode but I can't seem to enter programming. When I try to enter programming with the procedure followed using the control button, nothing happens. It does not chirp and the LED does not blink. I also cannot enter valet mode using the control button. When the car is locked, the LED blinks and stop blinking if car is unlocked ignition is turned on. I do not understand what is going on.
