Re: samsung tv in permanent standby

This sounds like it will be a power supply problem or a control problem. Both of them will need a PCB replacement. You will need to take it to a repair shop.

Samsung Smart TV lights up but when i connect mainboard it goes into standby and starts clicking and standby light starts blinking in 2s and when i checked voltage its like its switching on and off.?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Clicks and clicks but wont power on

The TV is in forced standby because an internal fault has been detected. The clicking is the protection circuit that prevents the TV from starting to avoid more damage to internal parts.

You can try disconnecting power cord for ten minutes but I doubt that this will fix the problem. When the TV is in protect mode (that is the name for the "clicking and no power on") repair is usually needed. Testing will start from PSU to inverter passing through main controller board. One of the most common faults affecting this TV is the power supply, but all parts must be tested.

If you want to call a technician ring your local Samsung Support number.

Clicking and not switched on because capacitors on pcb power have damage.
open and change the capacitors can solved your problem.

When switched on at the mains the standby button just clicks on and off constantly, what should i do?

Hi Paul

This is a very common problem with samsungs and is down to capacitors in your power supply that fail. These guys sell the kit that you need to have it up and running again in no time, they provide full instructions with the replacement parts and also provide phone support if you get stuck.

Samsung 55" flat panel lcd tv is not coming on the standby button light stayes on but no picture coming on it doesn't come on with the switch only by plugin it to the outlet.

Does the backlight come on? or even flash on and off when the TV is switched on? I presume the standby light is showing 'blue' then. Do you have any sound? Also, when the TV remote is pressed, does the standby light flicker?

Samsung 40" tv not coming on

I would check out the power supply module for bad caps with bulging tops. Check DC voltages at the output connectors, you should have 5, 12, 24V.
