My problem is I need a schematic for a NAD 612THX. I am quite able to repair it otherwise. I do not expect it for free. NAD seems uninterested in helping me to repair their product. Not a good recommendation. Regards, Bob Field

You don't need a schematic. Google "Bose 901 manual" and read it. The speakers get hooked up to the speaker terminals on the NAD and the EQ is connected to the Tape Out and Tape In on the receiver. When you listen, you must engage the Tape Monitor (check the NAD manual on how to do that)

This cd player sound great but have in mind it is fitted with NE5532 op amps in linedriver stage, but single trafo supply, and this player is a standard production line cd player. I owned one, i liked the NAD sound, and i think if you pay something like $100-$130 you will be happy. Also you ask if you shall be aware of something, in older nad cd player displays is sometimes defect, but easy to fix. Also the laser need to be adjusted often. (as in most cd players.)
Step from track 1 to the last traack fast and back to track 1 again, listen to music parts from track 1, track 4, track 10 track xx.
If the sounud is not choppy, if there are coming sound in both speakers and otherwise it sounds good then i think you can buy it without expecting major problems.

at the rear side of the NAD preamp there is a switch, it can be in mode MM or MC . Please check it whether it is in right position or not.

I don't know of the availability of the schematics outside of service centers. Is there a specific problem? I have access to the service manuals but can not by contract send them out.

I have noticed that this nad c3xx series may have a general problem with the input switching chip. There are more post here on fixya where people have similar problems as you have.

For a few year ago, I repaired a fault that had close to the same symptoms, it was a cambridge azur xxx amplifier, in this cambridge it was a defect smd component that they used as a input multiplexer.

I look forward to repair this fault in the future. Nowadays i alway collect schematics and create repair e-books and/or repair movie guides in the fault finding process.

hey, well, typical problem i nad cd players, and also receivers by the way. The proble are tha nad use standard glow lamps. And as we know, the blow!! And often when you move around with the cd.
