Question about Amana AGDS902SS Gas Kitchen Range

1 Answer

The control buttons on my Amana AGDS902SS are breaking off. I have three of them broken now. Don't know if it's the kids or the cleaning person, but I now have to use a bamboo skewer to cancel the oven or time, or to set the clock. Looks like there are some clear plastic parts inside the controller that are broken. Unfortunately the parts schematics I see online offer no details of the inner portion of the controller. So I'm not sure what parts to buy. I see the buttons are available, but my buttons seem ok, they just don't stay inserted.

If the buttons are for the clock . then 1/2 of the button stem is inside the clock . you may damage the clock ( e g r ) buy poking inside it . they cost a lot .. remove old stems and buttons / replace all / they get brittle from oven heat . m m

Amana AGDS902SS, need the ovenpressure regulator

Pressure regulators can be found at http://www.johnstonesupply.com/ or at http://www.grainger.com/ . you just need to know the type of gas (LP or Natural) and the size of inlet and outlet.
Note, make sure it is a pressure regulators problem. this is not a common problem

The browser component of the Android tablet is a built in software package. It cannot be easily removed, disabled, or otherwise hidden. However, there are other applications that you can download from the Play market that allow you to mask what applications your child can interact with. These applications, when downloaded, will allow your child only to have access to the parts of the tablet YOU say they can, and nothing else.

Some suggestions:
  • Kids Place - Parental Control
  • Famigo
  • App Lock
While the three above are just the top three in the market that do what you want, there are plenty of others to choose from as well.

When sharing a tablet, phone, or smart device, it is wise to setup an environment that is safe for the other person while still keeping control. These applications allow you to specificy what you want shared, allowed, and available on the tablet, without affecting the operation of the machine. So, they should work for you quite well.

Replacing pump

I personally when a pump goes out, it is not worth fixing. Every time I personally have replaced the pump ( after factory pump) it seems to be just a temp fix. Washing machines either work or don't . If it comes to the point of replacing pumps, or barrings, its time to find another machine with a good warranty. Less electronics the better. The good old dial ones are the least of problems and cheaper to repair. I personally like GE basic dial models. Don't need all those fancy electronic junk that seem to break all the time. My opinion , Mike

If the buttons used to work then yeah it sounds like a hardware issue. You can go ahead and take the remote apart, but I don't think you will be able to fix it, unless you are good at soldering. Cleaning the contacts alone won't help. This same thing happened to the most used buttons on my Harmony One, and I just assigned the commands to the screen, so I could continue using the remote without those buttons.
If you want to try assigning the buttons to the screen, the steps in this article by Logitech will help:

I hope this helps.

The sensory board has gone out three times and the stove is 5 years old

I don't think the boards are your problem / look for power problem like low voltage / voltage surges / -- because this is 120 volts you could use a suruge control at the plug .. don't use a cheap one .. board arn't cheap .. make sure the electrical gorund is a good on.. poor grounds cause other problems in th house ..ck it good. **** ..

Oven not lighting on Amana model agds902ss

Helloemauldin Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

When you turn the thermostat on your range on it sends 120 volts to the bake valve and ignitor. The bake valve and ignitor are wired in series and the ignitor draws all the current and heats up. As the ignitor heats its resistance changes and when it is cherry red the current switches to the gas valve and it opens. The amp draw on the ignitor needs to be 3.2-3.6 amps for the gas valve to open. The gas valve has gas to it at all times. The gas valve should open within 40 seconds after the ignitor starts to glow.
If the ignitor is glowing red and the gas valve doesn’t open the ignitor is usually the problem. Sometimes the ignitor will glow red but the resistance doesn’t change and the gas valve doesn’t draw the current.

This is not a do it your selfer!

AMANA ACS3350AS - NEVER BUY AMANA!!!

I have the same problem with faulty hinges creating heat that fries the control panel on my Amana range. I checked with the Amana-authorized repair guy and he estimated that a repair would cost about $475 in parts and labor. So here's what I did:
  • I called Amana customer service (866-616-2664) and explained that I had a dilemma -- my 5-year range has faulty hinges and no longer works. I am not in a position to replace it, but I know from online research that because this is a product defect, the $475 repair can only be expected to last for about a year.
  • When the rep said there is no record of a defect, I told her -- very politely -- that Amana-authorized repair person, himself, had pointed me to the websites.
  • When the rep said she hadn't heard anything about that, I told her -- again, very graciously -- that there is actually a class-action suit in Florida against Amana (see http://ovendoorlatchsettlement.com/pdfs/MTM_NOT_080103.pdf) because the panels become so hot that they are dangerous.
  • I asked if, given the above and my dilemma, if it would be possible for Amana to cover the cost of parts.
  • After checking with a supervisor, Amana agreed to pay for the parts.
I think this is an excellent compromise solution as the parts probably cost Amana very little but with the mark-up would cost me a lot. The key here though is BEING VERY KIND TO THE REP. They are trained to be inflexible. If that is going to push your buttons, you might want to ask someone else to make the call for you.
