Hiding Desktop Icons in Windows XPWith a good choice of wallpaper, your computer desktop can add an attractive, even artistic, element to your home or office. Eye-catching desktop wallpaper can be as decorative in its way as a painting or other wall hanging.

If you value the aesthetic potential of your desktop, you might like to enhance it even further by hiding the desktop icons.

Icons appear on my wallpaper page that are of programs I wish to keep for reference, but do not want on my wallpaper

Open Explorer (right click on the start button), create a folder named Storage (or any name you like), then drag the icons into that folder.

Another method would be to right-click on the icon "send To" My Documents" or to a Compressed Folder.

If you want to hide your icons, right click on your desktop(your screen). A window will appear and put your pointer on view. Another window will open and at the bottom you will see "show desktop icons " with a check mark. Click on this and your icons will be hidden. To get them back do it again.
