Now that we've ruled out the problem being your graphics card, could you try connecting the monitor to a different computer, using the same cable and a different cable?

Okay, do you mean that you've connected it to a different computer with a different cable? If you did, the problem is probably with the chip that receives the video signal from your PC, but it's dangerous for people who are not qualified technicians to open up monitors as some components hold electrical charges even when the monitor is unplugged. If it's still under warranty you should have it fixed by Viewsonic and if it isn't you could try a repair shop.

Vp2000s:Solid green LED with black screen

Please read below before DIY.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Viewsonic monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Problem with 17" ViewSonic Monitor

The same problem w/ my viewsonic E70 17" monitor. The viewmeter or viewmatch color on screen do not appear when power ON, although the green led power is ON.

But if you rest your monitor for about 10 hrs or more the viewmeter will appear when you power ON the monitor.

You can now start your CPU.

Remember : No viewmeter screen on monitor when power ON, means no supply coming out the picture tube or high voltage.

But if there is Viewmeter on screen , this normal and OK>

It sounds to me like your losing the high voltage on the inverter board after the board warms up.Could be the transformer or a capacitor on the inverter brd.
