Before you seek a repair, make sure you have the settings correct to record audio. Some Sony settings allow to record video+audio, video only, audio only.

The tuner in this model usually incorporates a microprocessor to store the channels in its 'memory'. It would be part of the tuner/decoder circuit. When this chip develops partial failure, preset channels or stored functions are erased from memory, resulting in retuning frequently. Unfortunately, this is not serviceable to the consumer at individual component level; it would have to go to an authorised SONY service centre, for assessment.This could prove expensive, so obtain a quote on the likely repair cost(s) involved, then make a decision afterwards. DVD recorders and players use more than one microprocessor, and each of these are surface-mounted devices, glued and soldered to the copper side of the PCB. Only accept the quote if you truly want this repaired professionally by a SONY tech. and are prepared to pay whatever cost(s) necessary to restore this unit to full functionality, including remembering settings/channels.

check the settings if it is automatically stored or saved in memory card or phone memory while you are capturing a picture at the same time.

plz delete ur some picture to make ur phone memory free

Or on remote in this order press "display -5- vol down - pwr ." and then you could watch it right now ..kinda

The Mavica MVC-FD100 has spec for the std. memory stick and does not allow use of the newer Pro-Duo memory stick. Buy an old used std. memory stick on ebay to fix your problem.

I don't have the table for decoding the flash sequence but I suspect it points to the main power supply.
Even if the repair costs a few bucks, have it repaired and if you don't have a digital to analog converter yet through the famous (infamous?) coupon program, get one and even when you upgrade to a wonderful flat panel set, don't dispose of those; park them in a dry place so you have something to watch while the flat panel is repaired. The track record of these, off- and name brands, is looking pretty poor. They will fail much earlier than your Sony did.

I also have gotten this problem.
I have found that while using the Mediastick adaptor, I get this error when the adaptor's batteries get low. The adapter needs enough power to write to the memory stick, otherwise it writes too slow with low power, thus resulting in the disk error. Hope that helps you.

There is absolutely NO way to use a Memory Stick with the FD83 camera. The floppy adapter will never work with a FD83. The camera OS does not have the required driver.
