Two dual 2 ohm subs = .5 ohms wired parallel and 2 ohms wired in a series / two dual 4 ohm subs = 1 ohm wired pallallel and 4 ohms wired in a series / one dual 2 ohm sub = 1 ohm wired parallel and 4 ohms wired in a series / one dual 4 ohm sub = 2 ohms wired parallel and 8 ohms wired in a series......this means if you have two dual 2 ohm subs or if you have one dual 4 ohm sub you are not going to be able to get a 1 ohm load.......running parallel on a dual coil speaker is both positives are ran to the positive on the amp and both negatives are ran to the negative on the amp.....running in a series is the positive terminal from one coil ran to the positive on the amp and the negative terminal on the other coil ran to the negative on the amp and having the remaining open positive and negative terminals connected to each other with a jumper wire

That's dependent on your subwoofers. You will need 2 dual 4 ohm subs wired in Parallel, a single dual 2 ohm subwoofer wired in parallel, a single dual .5 ohm wired in series. Or something similar.

I got to 12 they are about 400 watts each what would be a good amp to put on it to lift the subs

Hello jeremymikjha,

Basically you want to match the subs in impedance and power.

With 4 ohm subs wired in parallel, the final load will be 2 ohms. Depending on how hard you want them to hit, a pair of 400 watt RMS subs will need an amp that delivers 600-1,000 watts into a 2 ohm load.

The enclosure you use will also make a big difference. A sealed enclosure will need more power. A ported enclosure will be louder with less power.

The Hifonics shown here would be a good choice for a sealed enclosure. It's rated for 1,100 watts RMS into a 2 ohm load.

The Eclipse XA1200 outputs 600 watts RMS into a 2 ohm load. It would power the subs very well in a ported box.

Somewhat less expensive but good quality would be one of the Alpine MRP series. The MRP-M500 is only $179.99 at SonicElectronix. It delivers 500 watts. It's big brother is the MRP-M1000 with twice the power. Be sure your subs are securely mounted or this amp will literally "lift the subs".

Hope this helps.

Bxi 1606d amp it turns on power up but no sound

Well i sounds like your amp is shot. Or you have the subs wired incorrectly to the amp. Each amp is different in stability with ohm loads and each amp performs differently at each load. Sounds like it was wired at the wrong ohm load in the past or it came defective from factory. Definately send it back if u just got it.

Hifonics BXI 1606D problems

it may be a wiring problem you need to make sure all the speaker positives and negatives are correct. I sell alot of hifonics amps and have never had 1 do that. it may also be a bad rca cable. if it only does it when you use the filter i would say not to use it also make sure the gain is no more than 3/4 turned up and the bass boost no more than 1/2. if you have a dif amp try a temp setup using it and if it still does it its a wiring issue. also try 1 speaker at a time on the hifonics and keep adding 1 till it comes back it may be a bad voice coil on 1 sub .

Setting low pass and bass eq

the only thing that might damage equiptment other than playing it too loud would be running at 1 ohm if not supported by the amplifier.

as far as the eq and crossover settings, that is dependent on personal preference, and the acoustics of the paticular vheicle installed
