Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone

1 Answer

My iphone screen has stretched out somehow and all icons and windows don't fit on the screen. I can't even see the slide button at the bottom. I tried to "unzoom" with my fingers but it's not working. I turned off the iPhone twice and it didn't work. When I select "Settings" the words are cut off because they don't fit in the screen. I just bought my iPhone 3GS.

Take your two thumbs and start at the sides of the screen.  Now bring your two thumbs together.  If that don't work, then you just got a bad digitizer from you dropping the thing or exposing it to moisture or just bad quality control on Apples part.  Take the thing back to the store for exchange.  Note:  Apple won't do sh.t for you if they find out you water damaged the unit.

Oh yeah one more thing.  You can try resetting the thing by holding the power button on top and the home button at the bottom of the screen until the Apple logo appears.

    To Fix :
    Go To settings,
then find accessibility menu (it is either a sub menu in main settings or sub menu of settings>phone>accessibility or somwhere. buts its there),
once in the accessibility, find the option "zoom" and turn it off.

    simple! :)

Zimzim, thanks for the comment, I spent atleast 2 hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my new iphone(I've had it bearly for 3 days) and was a bit worried now since it seemed my screen was off center and was being cropped on the top and bottom parts of the screen. Turns out that since I had been tinkering with it I turned that "zoom" option ON without really knowing what it was for and it turns out that's what was messing up the screen. So I turned it off and problem solved, thanks!

How to turn off apps on iphone

Hard to understand what you actually need?!
You either want to close the app or to delete it?
-to close an app you doubletap the home button and slide the app you want to close, off the screen with a fingergesture from bottom to top of the screen!
-to delete an app, you hold down the apps icon until it starts to wiggle. Once they wiggle, you tap on the "x" in the app icons corner and you'll be asked to confirm the operation.

Mic not working

You may have to return your iphone to your store if the mic really does not work. But first try completely turning off your iPhone. Hold down the top button until "slide to power off" comes on... Then slide to off. Once completely off, wait a minute and click the upper right button to turn on again.

Many times "things" don't work because you have too many apps open atone time... So close the apps you are not using. To see what apps that are open, double click the button at the bottom of your screen quickly... Make sure that your first icon page is showing when you do this...By double clicking you will then see at the bottom of the page a single row of all apps that are running... You can then press on the app icon(s) that are open for a second or so.... And "x" will appear. Touch the "x" to turn off the app... NOTE: Make sure that you only do this on the highlighted bottom row...

My iphone is frozen i can't get any icons to work

You may want to try a hard reset on your iPhone.

Press and hold the home button (bottom center) and the power button (top right) simultaneously until the phone shuts off (ignore the slide to turn off).

Continue holding both buttons until the apple logo appears. Once the Apple logo appears, release both buttons. This should perform a hard reset on your iPhone and hopefully will eliminate the issues you're having.

How do I tweet and follow people on twitter. I have installed on Iphone4 and have account but don't know how to start

To start tweeting just open the twitter app on your iphone 4. Once the app is launched you will notice a pencil/paper style icon at the top of the screen, touch this button and a new window will appear. Type your tweet and hit send.

The easiest way to follow other twitter users from the iPhone app is to use the search functionality of the app. At the bottom of the screen there is a magnifying glass icon. Touch this icon to bring up the search section. Type in a name or topic then search. When viewing results you can touch the users avatar (photot) to view a users profile, on the profile screens there is a large button to follow.

IPhone bottom edge only allows slide functions.

Try a hard reset on the iphone. Hold don both the sleep/wake button at the top right and your home button at the same time. Continue to hold both buttons for about 20-30 seconds (do not slide to power off) until you see a white apple appear. Let go once you see the apple log appear, wait for phone to power cycle back on. If that doesn't work, try a restore. You must connect to itunes, choose restore as new. If it doesn't work after that, you'll need to get a replacement.

The same thing has just happened to mine, I rang Apple helpline. Put three fingers onto the screen and double tap. This will reduce back to normal. Then go into Settings and choose accessibility and zoom. Turn this function off.
