When i turn on my sony vaio pcg-k25 it will go to the start it will say the logo then goes to a baclk screen with a dash then goes comptele balck?

Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/System/Hardware/Device Manager/System Devices/

Then right click on: "Microsoft System Management BIOS Driver" and "Update Driver..."

Then "Yes, this time only" and "Next"

Then "Recommended" and WAIT

If your drivers are actualized it wouldn't find anything.

These symptoms are not the inverter problem, What can you do if the laptop LCD screen turned completely white? From my experience I can tell that this problem may be related to the following: 1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen. 2. Defective LCD screen. 3. Defective motherboard (I assume the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard).
Check these by yourself or get assistance from sony support.

It could be many things including the mother board, but it could also be something much more simple. When a processor overheats (big problem on alot of laptops) the laptop automatically shuts off, and sometimes does not come back on for a while. You shoudl try to unplug it, and take out the battery for a while, and try turning it on WITHOUT the battery in.

IS THIS WITH BOTH AC CORD AND BATTERY
you probably need a power supply
before you run out and buy one start and press f8 then start in safemode see if the same thing happens
also make sure your AC adapter is connecting with internal connection the internal connection can become loose or bent from constant plugging and unplugging

Do you get the same result if its plugged in or running off battery? Try holding down the "FN" key or function key and using one of the Function keys i believe its F6 on the sony's to brighten up your screen if that doesn't work try downloading and reinstalling your video driver and finally you may have a video card issue

Have you tried booting with a windows cd, and then running a disk check?

have you tried your power management settings?

get a picture of the parts of the sony vaio from google images or wherever

use the picture as a guide to fix it
