Losing power to stick/floor vacuum

Recently my canister vacuum because seems to be shorting out when I vacuum carpet floors. Each time I pull back on the vacuum, the light goes out on the vacuum head and it stops the roller brush.

Re: Losing power to stick/floor vacuum

If you have an extension wand, the replacement will cost about $100.00. there is a way to repair both the pwr-cord on the brush assemble and the wand, but it depends on how much damage there is. also you need to check the contacts where the wand connects with the handle, and the prongs on the handle.

let me know if you still need help

Re: Losing power to stick/floor vacuum

Check the electrical plug connections on the wand and where it plugs into on the power head. You may have to replace the wand and the power cord going into the powerhead. These connections get overheated and won't conduct very good. (Shutting off the power head before unplugging it will cut down on these kind of problems,) To order parts, go to, click on parts, put in your model number and the parts list will come up for you to order parts.

Sebo k3 won't vac on carpet...only hard floor

Do you mean the beater bar stops turning and then it doesn't vacuum?
Or it shuts off when you jam it full of carpet? Read the below manual:

Every thing clean & sucking well except wont pickup off floor. brush in good condition &rotating. any answers would help.

This is hard to answer without see it in person. Check and make sure there is no broken pieces on the bottom where you could loose suction. Also make sure you have the machine set correctly for either bare floors or carpet. If it is on set on carpet and yopu are cleaning bare floors you might loose suction there also. Also make sure you check all pathways for the dirt to get to the canister fo any signs of blockage. Are all the filters in place like they should be? Sounds like the suction is getting diverted from the floor somehow, make sure everything is secure and locked in place on the canister. Also check on the top of the handle and make sure the little purple screen is moved back into place covering the top of the handle, you could be sucking more air in thru this inlet and not enough off the floor! This is usually moved out of the way when you connect the hose to the handle for your attatchments. It may still be pulled back and needs to be moved forward into place!

Henry brushes seem to catch in the carpet when pulling-will the brushes soften and make it easier to use as it makes the head bounce of the floor a bit when pulling making it harder work to vacuum?

There is a "see-saw" type switch on top of the cleaning head (the part that you push across the floor). This raises and lowers the brushes according to the type of floor you are vacuuming. Move this switch to the other postion and you will find that it runs over the carpet more smoothly.

Vacuum not picking up dirt

The neck in your power head is likely clogged. Disconnect from the wand and look inside. Also check the wand.Since you have suction on the bare floor the hose is likely not blocked.

Dyson vacuum brush roll doesn't turn

The brushbar should only turn when you meet two conditions:
1) When you step on the front of the machine and pull back on the handle (recline the machine in other words)
2) The dial is set to CARPETS

The brushbar shouldn't turn at all when it is set to the BEAR FLOORS setting.

To rectify the problem - call the Dyson Helpline so that they can refer you to an authorized dealer in your area - the repair dealer will inspect the dial and figure out why the functionality seems to be switched. They'll be able to fix it for you.

It sounds like there is something wrong with the latching assembly. GO to the Sears Parts website and enter your Model number. Look at the parts assembly for the Nozzle, and the problem will be in one of items 12 through 17.
