Question about Springfield Optics
This is in essence a copy of the M14 military rifle or the M1A civilian version of the very same rifle although it only fires semi-auto. It fires the 7.62 NATO round and will also fire the .308. The barrel has been shortened with an added rail system on top for tactical lights. Has an added muzzle brake to prevent recoil. It is taken down exactly the same way as the M14 or M1A. This will show you how to disassemble the rifle. http://www.surplusrifle.com/m14m1a/rifledisassembly/index.asp You can get an owner's manual by contacting Springfield Armory. 1-800-680-6866 or email@example.com Here is their website. http://www.springfield-armory.com/contactus.php I carried the M14 while in the Army until they changed over to the M16. this is an outstanding rifle that you should be proud to own. It is IMO, the finest combat rifle ever made. It is extremely easy to take apart and clean. After you have done it one time you will see how easy it is. If you need more information just look for articles on the M14 or M1A as that is basically what you have. This is a very valuable rifle so take care of it.
