Question about HP G60-120US Laptop
Usually with sharp knife or screwdriver (safer) you have to break the middle into halves...they're glued together.
Unless you're super desperate and not worried that you'll damage your computer permanently or worse start an electric fire you should just re-purchase an ORIGINAL charger for your machine.
ebay's the cheapest place...don't get a knock off!

Did you wiggle it a bit when plugged in? You can't tell from looking on the outside if the plug is fine because it goes bad inside where it is soldered. This is a very common problem, and have fixed many laptops with the same problem. All of them had a bad solder connection inside. Did you dtermine the plug was fine by plugging another ac adapter to your laptop or you just checked it visually? Hit me up I will solve this one for you.

SOURCE: laptop won't turn on
The blinking orange battery light generally indicates that the battery isn't working properly, usually going out and not charging properly. In this case, since the adapter will not power the machine without the battery, and it should, I'm going to say that the adapter is going out and not getting the proper amount of power to the system. Try replacing the adapter. Be sure to replace it with a Dell replacement, the Targus brand universal adapters do not work well with Dell machines, and in most cases won't work at all.

You may be able to get a battery charger but its rare.
If you do wish to use the AC adapter, take care with positive and negative. Also the voltage of the battery is actually lower than the AC adapter in order to get charged. I don't know what is going to happen if you do choose to use AC adapter as battery. 75% chance that it will work.

You say "My dell xps M2010 laptop is not working with the battery", do you mean only with battery you laptop can't work, if so, I think you should check your battery. You can check the adapter first, follow the steps as eng_omran_77
If the battery is bad, change a new one, In fact it's a very common problem for laptop, my laptop battery is out of work for a long time, but I don't use battery often, so I don't care about the battery.
My friend have bought a battery from an online shop, it's a replacement battery, cheap, but the performance is OK,
So you can have a look:
