best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This error occurs when you do not set up a google account during the initial setup. You can try some of the following steps to see if you can resolve the issue.

-Restart the phone without the SIM card, and connect to some WiFi network, so you can login to your Google Account. It will log you into the account, and then you can put the SIM card back.
1. Hard reset your phone. You will lose all information that is currently on your phone when you do this.

Select Settings -> Security -> Factory Data Reset

2. Once the phone reboots, input your google account information when the phone asks for it.

The phone number for android customer support should be 888-486-3987 ,however, I would recommend if you are going to call tech support that you call the provider you purchased the phone from.

My google account is not appears can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. this could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data service.if i

Two possible issues ... You may have had an old SIM card ... or your Account has not been set for Data ... the data provision is enabled by the Service provider and your SIM card is part of that service ...
Call the CS and have them check that your phone's sim and account are both registered in their system ... once this is done ... you should be OK ..

Is it rooted? Does it have a custom ROM without the Google apps loaded? If so, you will need to flash the appropriate gapps to the phone.

For the xRecovery wink.gif You can DL Root Explorer
Manual Installation:
- Download and unpack the recovery package
- use Root Explorer to remount /system rw
- copy the content of the package (3 files) into /system/bin folder
- set permissions individually to 777 on each of the 3 files from the zip

This sounds like you do not have Internet settings on the handset, In reality you will need to contact your network provider and request that they supply the Internet settings to rectify this issue.

The Android 2.1 roll out was unexpected considering the antagonising delays with the X10 Rollout. But ... It was great. Most of the issues were solved... Good work. No More Black screens, the onscreen keyboard does not lag, the UI feels snappier. Bluetooth functions are added. The apps do not crash ... Great! and the bundled Bloatware can be uninstalled... which is unexpected.Regarding the caller showing as unknown...

You need to have a data plan on your SIM card, or a friend with the same provider with a SIM card you can borrow. The phone REQUIRES a data package to activate. You can however get past the activation, however this is quiet involved. I would google search it if you really want to attempt to get past the problem, but I am warning you, this is tough.

Connecting to google server

You need to be set up for the G1 data plan through T-Mobile. This is the 24.99 plan for g1 data + 400 texts, or 34.99 for g1 data and unlimited texts. If you are setup through online billing, you can do this through the website by clicking "Account>Add/Change services". If you do not have web billing, you can contact billing by phone.

Note - it can take up to 24 hours to become active, but on mine, it only took 10 minutes.

Reset G1

Hi, I had that problem. I first verified that my TMobile internet was activated on my account and on my SIM card by putting the card in another phone and connecting to the 'net on it. Then I found the APN setting on the G1 and I changed the APN at the heading "T-Mobile US" from the new 3G APN "" to the older APN "". The APNs can be accessed on your still-locked phone by pushing the "Menu" button at the sign-in screen. Scroll down to "T-Mobile US", select it and change "" to "", exit by pushing the left-arrow button a few times, then re-enter your GMail info. If the "Edge" icon has appeared in the menu bar area, then you're golden!
