Is this a reflector or a refractor style telescope?

If it is a reflector with a mirror in the bottom the eyepiece and focuser looks like this when setup properly.

http://www.telescope.com/control/product/~product_id=08943

Notice they are on the end pointed UP. Do NOT use the 2 x barlow if you have one. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser and practice focusing on a distant object during the day. The moon should be your first target at night.

Cant see anything ?

I going to straight forward on this answer. This telescope is a useless piece of junk! The tripod is unstable, the .965 (obsolete size and design) eyepieces will only focus dead center. The finder is useless, too narrow a field to find anything. The high power eyepiece exceeds the maximum useful magnification (only 98x max under perfect conditions) This may be used for terrestrial viewing but worthless for astronomy.

I bought a 102mm Astro-Nova Telescope. Why cant I see anything?

Why did you buy a telescope being sold by TOYS R US!

We get more complaints on this scope than any other brand.

Read the negative reviews here:

Next time buy from a regular telescope retailer like this one:

Just bought, used, set up but cant see anything through any of the lenses

I answered your question in your other posting.

SEE this and look at the picture of the Dobsonian reflector. Notice the eyepiece and focuser is on the FRONT of the telescope. The mirror is the BOTTOM of the telescope.

Tasco telescope[46-114500]cannot see anything through lens.bought

THE protective cover is the FRONT of the telescope!!!

The focuser is on the front like the picture above. TURN the scope around -- you have it pointing at the ground right now!

Read my TIPS on my profile page. And read this and look at the pictures:

Cant see anything

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope. Go outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object. The moon should be your first night time target.

New bushnell telescope, cant see anything, what am i doing wrong?

Put the lowest power eyepiece in the telescope-- that's the one with the LARGEST number on it.

Go outside and practice focusing on a distant object at least 100 yards away-- turn the focus knob slowly.

Why cant I see a planet on a cc-jrs telescope

What eyepiece size are you using and what planet are you targeting? Jupiter is usually a good starter after you've practiced on the moon.
