If the light is flickering with the crackling, it's probably the sound of electricity arcing that you're hearing. This needs immediate attention by someone who knows electricity as it could be a fire hazard.

Starting to get some crackling in the upper portion of the volume sweep. What's the best course of action please? Regards, T.E.

If you can access the potetiometer, lube it with CRC226 available at Home Depot in the electrical dept. Blue can about $2.70. Make sure it is the 226 as there are other CRC products there and they are unsuitable. NEVER use DeOxit or Blue Shower in potentiometers!!!!!

Hard drive powers up, light comes on makes a crackling sound then goes off.

Crackling sounds are usually electrical. Does the unit smell burnt?
If the sound is actually a ticking sound, then the heads inside the hard drive are banging and the drive needs to be replaced.
Data retrieval for drives making clicking sounds are very costly and require a data retrieval company.

PROBLEM WITH THE AUDIO OUT CHANNEL

It sounds like you may have a bad cable. The most common place for a small gauge cable (such as RCA, TPS, XLR, etc) with metal connectors to fail is in the stain relief which often fails to live up to its name. An easy way to check this is to grab the cable near the connector and wiggle it. If the sound crackles and changes volume levels suddenly then you may want to try a replacement cable. If the replacement doesn't help, you should use a contact cleaner such as "Blue Shower 2" that is approved for electronics use. Make sure your mixer is switched off and disconnected from its power source before using any cleaners to avoid any risk of electric shock. Apply the cleaner to all exposed output connectors on the mixer. Hope this cleans up your output prolems

Speakers work but crackle when in use with my dell 8300

Most likely this is because of a loose socket. Check to see if there's any dust or debris inside the audio socket(s). If cleaning it/them out doesn't work, then the socket is loose and the only way to fix the problem would be to get the sound-card repaired or buy a new sound-card.

It's my opinion that buying a new sound-card would be cheaper. You can find a good amount of them at this website. Simply navigate to Computer Hardware>Input Devices. Now on the left click, "Sound Cards." Watch out, though. There's a link labeled, "Sound Card Accessories." However, it doesn't lead you to the same page.

Let me know if I can assist you further or if I need to explain anything mentioned above in more detail.

Snap, crackle sound from Sanyo TV

It sounds to me as if possibly ya Main IC Amp Chip & OR the Output Capacitors are failing... Sometimes it is a sign of a power supply on it's way out... Either way it's time for a repair shop quote. Either that or it may be the speakers crossovers... to check this, if you can, try another set of speaker... see if problem is still there. If it IS, then it IS most probably as I said above.. If NOT then it may be one or both of the "Crossover Network" in each speaker...
