Question about RCA HD52W56 52" Rear Projection HDTV

Open Question

My tv keeps shutting off at random intervals. It doesn't happen every day, but today it has happened six times. It doesn't feel warm to the touch, and I have vacuumed all the vents. How do I fix that or what is the problem?

The expert opinion I received directed me to a website for online tv. Is this a sarcastic joke? I think that is passing the buck to an ultimate degree. If you don't know, say it. Don't waste my time with such stupidity and frivolity.

SOURCE: Cutting off at different intervals

it could be high voltage cap located by flyback,if you have back off of tv and turn tv on,you will see green led's turn on,(on the board)if they turn off there is a small blue high voltage cap hidden under glue(i believe it's a 102 cap)that would be the one change,99% of time that is what will fix problem

SOURCE: rca d40w20 rear projection tv with popping noise

It sounds as if you have a grid to anode short that is inconsistent. I would try to get the warranty company to just go ahead and replace all three tubes and be done with it. But, this is only my opinion, and past experiences with these sets. An aside; the more brightness level you ask of the tubes, the more this can be aggravated, as a general rule. Try different sources and program content and see if this is the case. Those scenes with more luminance (brightness) will stress the tubes more than low-level or dark scenes. See if that helps...accordianman

Random single beeps coming from the laptop. Diagnostics came back clean. The beeps can happen one, two, several times a day and random intervals or go days, weeks without any beeps.

hmmmm sounds familiar, i had the same issue it turned out to be a cracked ram clip that caused the random beeps from time to time. i would take a look at your ram and reseat and check for damage to the clips.

I have an Acer Aspire 6530 running Windows Vista and today it started shutting off at random. When it shuts off the bottom 2/3 of the screen has blue stripes across it, and on the blue is text I cannot...

Good question.

Does the computer feel hot when it shuts off?

Does it always happen at the same exact time?

Can you try booting the computer into Safe Mode? (What Happens?)

First thing I'd try is uninstalling the video adapter driver under device manager and restart the computer.

Let me know what happens!

Shuts itself off periodically

If the period of time in question is reasonably consistent - say 45 minutes after powering up it shuts off - you could be suffering from an overheating issue inside the unit. Temprature sensors can override manual operation and shut the unit off to avoid greater damage (or even a fire) occuring. Have the TV serviced.
If you find it happens at random time intervals from cold this is less likely to be the case and it could be relative to the mains power supply going to the TV. If you suffer from 'dirty power' (power that dips and surges instead of giving a consistent voltage) this could also cause an automatic shutdown condition within the TV. This could happen at any time after the unit has been turned on. An unterruptible power supply (UPS) would help with that.

Laptop running Vista gets 'blue screen' and shuts itself down

This type of problem happens a lot. Usually its associated with heat and dirt(dust). A good cleaning will increase your air flow and probably fix your problem.

Either way you MUST see whats happening inside...it can certainly be insects clogging critical areas...I've seen it before.
