Question about Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108 DVD Camcorder
There are a few reasons this could have happened. This is why I don't recommend or would ever invest in a dvd camcorder. It is a great concept but burning dvd's and finalizing is a complex process and prone to failure without putting in the extra variables associated with a digital video camera. If the video is important enough you can have it restored by professionals at a place like this: http://www.minidvdrepair.com/ it can be relatively cheap compared to what some places charge. If need any further assistance please let me know.
