Hi

Disconnect the machine from the power source and also disconnect the inlet hoses.

First start by opening the top hatch. You can do this by first opening the lid. there are 2 screws under plastic caps in the corners, under the lit. Open the screws.

See if you can lift the top hatch back. If not, you need to open the screws, or sometimes no. 7 bolts, in the back of the machine. These join the top hatch (plastic part) to the machine body (metal part).

When you raise the top hatch, there will be a power connection with earth wire, and a presure hose which connect to the bottom of the control panel. You can disconnect these. Take note, as you need to put them back on later.

Once you remove the top section you have clear access to the top of the drum. There is a plastic rim on top of the drum which you need to remove. Sometimes they are screwed on, and sometimes they clip into place. The old hoovers were clip on plastic. The newer hoovers are more like Simpson and have screws.

Once you remove that, look down in between the inner and outer durm and see if you can see the bra wire. If you can get to it with a long object it will be alot easier, than having to remove the inner drum. If the bra wire is free and just sitting on the base, just tilt machine to its side and with the help of a few people turn it upside down.

Removing the inner drum is a pain, and I do not suggest you do that yourself, unless you have the right tools.

However I can help you with it if you can not get to the wire. Let me know.

Regards

Ash

Hi the belt on our hoover hnl 6166 nextra will not stay on. The motor and the drum seem to be out of alignment and there are no broken screws or bolts or wobbles. Any ideas please? Thanks Robert.

I would suggest that the drum is out of alignment because the main bearings have failed, or the drum shaft has collapsed due nto corrosion.
Spin the drum by hand, and listen for any noise, there should not be any, and see if the drum rotates centrally in relation to the outer drum

Bra wire stuck between inner and outer drum how to remove Hotpoint WMF760

Depends where it is stuck. If near the very front you can sometimes get them by removing the door seal to gain a small access between drums. Other ways is remove the outlet pipe from the bottom of the drum or easiest and most probable area where it stuck is remove heating element. Provides a better view and bra wires normally get stuck on them.

During the washing cycle there is a noise that sounds like something is "clicking" inside ( kind like washing something made of metal inside the drum). it is steady and lasts through the whole washing...

I would suspect that something is caught between the inner and outer drum, like a bra wire or something similar.
If it washes and spins o/k, then I don't think it is a fault with the washer.
It will probably break up, or find it's way into the pump filter.
Hope this helps.

Bra wire's trapped between inner and outer drum,

If you cant pull wire out from inner drum with long nose pliers, Remove heating element and use torch to inspect bottom of washer. Most of the time the obstruction makes its way to the bottom. Use whatever tool necessary to remove spring.

Bra wire stuck somewhere in machine

You will not see it as it is trapped between the inner and outer drum, what you need to do is remove rear panel and the large hose from the pump to the bottom of the drum,
Then reach in with your fingers and see if you can feel it , if you can't then short of removing the drum (not recommended) ther is not a lot you can do, hopefully it will find it's way into the filter, where it wiil not be a problem
Plz rate this solution.

Also a bra wire!!!

Don't know where you live but you must have an auto parts store within driving distance.

There is a device, a gripper, intended for clumsy mechanics, that has a three-prong tip that opens and closes via a plunger at the remote end made for grasping hardware dropped into the crevices that one finds in the modern engine compartment.
The outer diameter is 1/4 to 3/8" (~6-9mm) in diameter and should pass between the tub walls without problem.
They aren't expensive (and worth just about that much).

The underwire from my wifes bra has gone through a hole in the drum in our washer. its stuck itself under the drum and is making an awful noise. do u think it would be possible for me to remove myself? if...

when you do this the waranty will be voided.
it is not too hard to remove but it is time consuming. Did this many times before but you have to be patient and methodical.
not what you take of and you will have to split the outer drum.

Draining & Spinning

I had a problem and when they took the back off. Underwire bra had got jammed through drum holes which stopped it spinning and water issues. I hope this might help.
