My homelite leaf blower UT # UT08023B is running badly all of a sudden. when i pull the trigger to get it to full speed, it acts like it doesn't want to get to full speed only about half speed and it seems like it's laboring, what's going on?

My Homelite leaf blower had a similar issue. I could hear a metalic clicking sound when it was running.

It turns out the flywheel has a cast in place key which is soft aluminum. The bolt holding the blower impeller and the flywheel in place had loosened up enough to allow the soft key to be destroyed.

I carefully re-installed the flywheel using Loctite® 660™ Quick Metal® Retaining Compound. The important issue here is to make sure the flywheel in aligned on the output shaft to retain ignition timing.

The blower runs perfectly after this repair.

Its a fuel delivery problem. Its running lean.
Check the fuel line in the tank to see if the filter fell off. If the filter is loose in the tank than the best way to repair is to replace the fuel line. Also the diaghrams in the carb are dry or the screen is clogged. Lastly, if the fuel lines are not rotted and the screen in the carb is clear and everything is in proper working order then you can adjust the carb ( if it has adjustments). Start by turning the low speed needle out ( counterclockwise) 1/2 turn.

Homelite mighty lite 26bv gas Blower won't run full speed or only in Full Choke

Sounds like a lean condition. Rebuild carb, replace fuel lines and fuel filter and you should be ready to blow the leaves.

Homelite ut-08068-r leaf blower leaking fuel

If we are talking about a hand held leaf blower. The fuel leaking from the carb is likely caused by a stiff metering diaghram holding the needle open. Rebuild your carb ( I suggest also replacing the fuel lines and primer bulb while you are at it) and double check the lever adjustment.

Would like to find out how to set carb hi/low speed on homelite mod ut 08030 leaf blower

This is not difficult but it takes patience. First screw both screws in full, then unscrew them out one full turn each.
Start your engine and working on the low screw first adjust it along with
the throttle control screw until you have ticking over nicely, then do the same with the H screw. Make your adjustments very little at a time. Stephen

Hello ben_brumett:

On My Homelite Blower I Simply Set the Throttle Lock. Pull Out the Choke (on the other I Move a Lever) and Turn on the Switch. Now Pull Until it Starts or Attempts to Start. Remove the Choke and Allow it to Warm Up for 2 or 3 Minutes.
You can Get a Manual from the Following Site Addy; and Fill Out the Required Information. Remember to have the UT Number if this Unit has One.
