SOURCE: my panasonic rear projection pt-52lcx65 wont turn

Sounds TV needs Ballast Supply board replacement, it is available in Part Store.

If you wish to replace above board by yourself, should have service manual copy that is available HERE for small fee.
Or call local TV tech for fix.
Thanks.

I get a message to clean filter. I removed back but could not find filter. Cleaned all visible dust and reinstalled back. Worked great for 2 months and got message again. Next day worked ok again. ...

hi,
To clan the air filter you have to remove the projection unit. You can see the projection unit behind the lamp blast board. There are three air filters in this unit. You have to clean these air filters. I have added the picture which showa the location of air filters. If you can give your email address the i will sent the service manual. Which will help you to remove and clean these Air filters. Remember one thing remove lamp first then only remove the projection unit from the rear side.
OK

The tv is only 4 years old and just stopped working while we were watching it. it is a "52 model number pt-52lcx65-ka.

Hi,
If lamp in tv has not been replaced in last 3-4 years then check lamp and replace it.
Did tv showed lamp replacement requires warning/ message on screen before going to shut down?
Did you hear any pop sound inside tv when it get shut down? that pop sound could be lamp that got broken.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

This is stright from Panasonic.

The consumer is not able to change the air filter. It will have to be done by an
authorized Panasonic service center."

Warning light comes on that T.V. will shut off in one minute & to call a technician to clean air filter.

Sounds like a plasma, or projection system. Find the fan inlet filter, remove the foam filter, and vacuum with a dust buster. You can use a can of compressed air to blow the filter clean, too.

Clean filter

In order to clean the air filters properly. The projection unit must be removed from the rear. This unit is very expensive! I would recommend calling for service. But you can find the service manual online for free if you feel daring.

OSD Message Panasonic PT-50LC14 Air Filter Needs Cleaning

I had the same problem and the stupid tv would shut off after 1 minute. We opened the silver front panel , took the bulb out cleaned it, took the cover off the grey box to the right and very carefully vaccumed the filter and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. It works great now!!! Make sure you unplug your tv before messing with it.
