Question about Protron PLTV-4250 42 in. LCD Television
I would check for blown capacitors! These look like AAA batteries but a much smaller size. Many times their tops 'silver' are puffed up 'bubbled' or even popped off. These are at voltages of 4.7 Volts DC and or even 12 Volts DC and even some larger ones at 24 and 50 Volts DC.
More than likely either capacitors have failed or possibly some other component such as a transistor has burnt up went out.
May be a good idea to find a part # for the main power supply and look on the web for a place to get a replacement part. I believe Protron is a part of Magnivox
