Try this, with no disk in the player press play and then hold down the stop button for about 10-15 sec. once the "progressive scan" comes up.

You need to try turning your tv not resetting the dvd player to a different channel. If you are using channel 4 try audio or game. Depending on the tv, the dvd player and your cable service that will determine what channel to use. My system here video 1 is for my dvd but game is for my vcr. So try that for on some channels all you get is sound and others picture. Good Luck. Ypur problem is minor just a pain till you have it all worked out.

That is possible that you hit more than one button on the remote at once but it is more or less hit and miss for usually the problem you are having doesn't happen from that but there is always a first time for everything. I wish I could be more help if I find anything that will help you I'll let you know.

Progressive scan mode is used by DVD players to artificially scale standard resolution DVDs to HD resolution, usually 720i. Is your set capable of receiving HD resolution? If not, that is probably why you are getting the blue screen.

DVD player wont show picture

to turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.
