With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS.

A lot of other customers have this same issue,. this is the best fix that they have reported. Other the that try getting a dvd lens cleaner from your local retail store such as walmart. Make sure the back of your dvds are clean. (no finger prints, smudges, scratches ect.)

please rate me, mark this has fixya if it has been helpful, as well as recommend me. Doing so helps me out greatly on knowing how i'm doing.

When i try using prgressive scan it comes up error why and how can i get progressive scan to work

In order to use progressive scan you must have a progressive scan compatible tv. Check your users manual to find out if its compatible. If it is it should give instructions to turn on the progressive scan option for tv.

I'm stuck in the annoying progressive scan mode. How do I turn it off? I looked at the other peoples questions, but there's no answer following them so I'll have to ask myself. I'd be a great help if you...

The one I have was already broken besides the progressive scan. Unlike the other solutions, for mine I had to open, then close the tray and while the screen displays read, I pressed the Stop button and held it down until the progressive blue screen disappeared.

Cannot turn off progressive scan mode on blue screen to play dvd

If you have not already seen this or done it - it worked for us:

On page 18 of the user manual under Progressive scan there is a Caution which says - If you set Progressive Scan to On in error, you must reset the unit. 1) Remove any disc from the unit and close the disc tray. See that "dISC " is displayed on the display window. 2) Press STOP (9) and hold it for more than five seconds before releasing it. The video output will be restored to the standard setting and a picture once again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.

Progressive Scan

Hold the stop button for about 10 seconds. The other thing to do is move the video out cable at the back of the DVD to one of the component outs (there are three of them one for each color rgb) you will be able to read the menu again. turn off progressive scan and reconnect the video cable to dvd out

DVD/VCR stuck in Progressive scan mode

With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS. Our DVD was stuck on Progressive Scan Mode for over 1 year, this fixed it. I had tried the press stop, press stop and hold while playing a movie, but not while there was no disk. Try it & Good Luck!!!!!!!!
