Kind of you did but did you check your processor it can have some problem like not put in correctly or if its a pin processor then one or more of the pins on the bottom might have broken down while putting it in. before you even turn on the computer check on the motherboard if the led light is on if it is not then it is not getting any power. you should also check the fan on the processor if it is working or not.

RS480M2IL will not boot up. Fans run and blinking light on DVD. Hard drive power light, but no Hard drive working light.

There could be a residual current in your motherboard, what you can do is unplug the power supply and hold down your power button on the case for 20+ seconds, this will discharge any current that could be causing the issue, if that doesn't fix your problem you may want to look into the condition of your power supply, also look carefully at your heatsink and check if the fan turns at all when you try to boot, if it spins just a little bit you may have a bad power supply, my advice is swap a couple parts and see what happens.

Does the hard drive light blink like there is activity? It sounds like your laptop is not posting. Unfortunately on a laptop if it fails to post it is likely the motherboard..

I would verify first that you Cannot get the external monitor to work by using the function + Keys on your keyboard to enable the secondary display (Usually something like FN+F4) FN being the key on the lower left of your keyboard between ctrl and alt typically..

If you cannot get it to display, Try an ESD Discharge.. Basically unplug the power brick from the laptop, Remove the battery and try turning it on.. While trying to turn it on contact your fingers on the metal prongs that protrude from the where the battery was on the laptop. This will discharge any built up static electricity from the laptop. Try hooking it all back up and booting.. Good luck

Try removing the laptop from the doc, pulling out the battery, hold the power button down for 10-20 seconds, and re-install the battery.

This should drain out the laptop and it should boot up properly without the dock.

My Acer Aspire 5520 blinks the power light when I turn it on; it will not boot up.

It looks like your battery is either discharged or has a short circuit.
Plug the power AC cord in the laptop and let recharge the battery at least 3 hours before you try to start it again. If the computer boots up, enter the BIOS and check to see if you have a "battery check" oprion. If you do, start it and let it run until it is done (it may take several hours to complete). It will check the battery charge cycle.

Kn8 SLI mobo will not run.

hey.

1. I strongly suggest you clean the dust off your motherboard and other internal components, it is possible that may be culprit if nothing was changed since the last time you used.

2. if something was in fact changed and cleanning does not resolve issue try the following to recover the hardware default status, and then making the motherboard work again:

Step 1. Switch off the power supply unit and then switch it on again after one minute. If there is no power switch on the power supply unit, disconnect its power cord for one minute and then reconnect.
Press and hold the <Insert> key on the keyboard, and press the power-on button to boot up system. If it works, release the <Insert> key and hit <Del> key to enter the BIOS setup page to apply the correct settings. (load default settings and save changes and exit)
If the situation remains the same, repeat the procedures in Step 1 for three times, or try Step 2.
Step 2. Switch off the power supply unit or disconnect the power cord. Open the chassis cover. Locate the CCMOS jumper near the button battery. Change the jumper position from default 1-2 to 2-3 for one minute to discharge the CMOS data, and then put it back to default 1-2 position.
Close the chassis and switch on the power supply unit or plug in the power cord. Press the power-on button to boot up system. If it works, hit <Del> key to enter the BIOS setup page to do the correct settings.
If the situation remains the same, try Step 3.
Step 3. The same procedure as Step 2, but while discharging the CMOS data, pull out the ATX power connectors from motherboard and remove the button battery during CMOS discharge.
3. try replacing the powersupply

D600 laptop boot problem

The D600 is plagued with power up problems for 2 reasons. First the connector on the motherboard to the power button is very sloppy and after awile it breaks contact. If you put pressure under the docking port area and press the power button it may start. The second is the memory slots. I know you said you replaced the memory, but it is the slot that is a problem. Remove the memory and put 1 chip in "A", then press down on the chip while trying to boot the laptop. If this works then get a peice of foam or pad and place it on the chip. When you put the cover back on it will push down on the chip and should boot. Repeat this process for "B".
The green light does signify a charged battery! This is also a possible reason for not booting. Remove the battery and try to boot with only the power supply. A shorted battery will stop the laptop from starting up.
If all of this does not help then remove the battery and the CD Rom, then try to boot. Finaly if nothing helps you should buy a new Laptop or a used one on E Bay. You could get a used D600 on E Bay that has a good motherboard for cheap money and use your drives and LCD. I work on D600 and D800 all the time. Let me know how you make out!
