Need to find the pressure switch on my goodman furnace

I have a goodman furnace and it's working, but not blowing hot air. The red light on the control panel is blinking 3 times, indicating that my pressure switch is open. Can anyone tell me how to find the pressure switch please?

Its not on the gas valve it's the device with the hose connected to it on the front above the gas valve and behind the draft blower. the hose goes from the pressure switch to the draft blower. usually not the pressure switch though. the circuit boards are notorious for burning up and giving a false diagnostic code. if it is the pressure switch remove the hose and try to blow it out and then connect it to the switch again leaving the other end off the blower. Blow gently into the hose and listen to the switch to see if it clicks. try sucking and removing any obstruction. if it does not click back and forth then it is bad.

It's mounted onto the gas valve. It will be a button or lever that you have to push in or down, depending on the style.

Witch blower is running, the inducer or the systems blower?
System blower could mean the the high limit is opening and shutting down the systems gas train, I would check this out first.

The other problem could be with the pressure switch for the gas train, it is supplied from the inducer motor, check to see if it is operating fully.

HSI boards do go from time to time, this sounds more like a system control problem.

Sounds like the furnace is tripping off on a limit safety, either temperature or air switch. Check filters and restrictions to air flow (furniture over return air grills, blocked filters) also, check the drainage line of the system. If the furnace can't drain water fast enough it will back up internally, and trip the system off on a pressure switch safety.

hope this helps.

Problem with furnace not kicking on.

could be one of a few diff issues. firstly, the air pressure switch may be failing. check to ensure the inducer motor is providing enough air flow for the air switch to close. if inducer motor isn't creating enough air flow the faults is within the motor. If the airflow is enough, then fault maybe the air switch. you also need to check for any blockage in the exhaust. ensure no debris is blocking the vent going to outside

I have a goodman GMP125-4 furnace, I have 2 fast blinking lights what does this mean? the furnace will not do anything?

There is a diagnostic chart on the reverse side of the front panel near the wiring diagram. It will give you a starting point where to look. I would check air filter, condensate hoses, small hoses for pressure switch, air intake for blockage and exhaust pipe for sags where water can collect.

We turned on our older Goodman furnace (model GMPN080-4) for the first time this fall, and... nothing. The fan works when the thermostat is set to "off" or when the temp setting is lower than the actual...

I googled Goodman trouble codes, and found 3 blinks is an open pressure switch. At the top of the furnace there is an induced draft motor. It forces the combustion gases, after ignition, through the flue pipe. Try giving it a little turn. You should be able to see the little fins, like a small fan blade. With it in the off position, no demand hot heat, try spinning that lil fan blade in either direction. And the try the heat. If that don't work, its likely the water leak, from the coil, has damaged the motor or control board, and you need a technician. Hope this helps!

HI the pressure switch is probbaly working.Turn the unit off then back on at emergency switch this will reset the unit.Lightly tap hhe pressure switch once as it is sensitive device.See if furnace lights off.If so the switch itself is defective and needs replacement. If it dontlight off shut of unit and carefully pull off and blow out the switch hoses ahd put back as condensation/water could be blocking inside. Also the little black motor should running and warm to touch not hot when unit is on.The house blower is on a timer and will come on weather burner lights or not.

If the unit is newer than 10 years I guess there will be no pilot light per sey. You will have to look at it to tell for sure. Here it is supposed to work. When there is a call for heat the thermostat will close and send a signal to the furnace to start the exhaust blower. When the blower gets up to speed, it closes a pressure switch that will send voltage to the gas valve and to the igniter. The igniter glows or sparks lighting the pilot. Once the pilot lights it sends a signal that all is well, then the gas valve opens up more and the burner(s) light. There is a sensor that tells the control board when the flame has stayed lit. Once that is done, after a period of time or as the heat exchanger gets to a specific temperature, it will turn on the room air blower and blow hot air. Once the thermostat has been satisfied, the furnace turns off. Now, get in front of the furnace and with the door panels off (you may need to tape down the door safety switch to make this work) watch the furnace go thru each step I described. Once you see where the problem is, you can start the proceed of repair. There may even be a flashing light indicating a problem. Find the wiring diagram on the furnace and look for a diagnostic chart and compare the number of blinks to this chart.
