Cold start problems but when started runs fine bought new battery, spark plug ,ht lead, cap

Did you check to see if fuel is getting to injectors on cold startup! If you have starting problems and the "check engine" light doesn't come on, you may have a bad engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT). Good-Day

Engine knocking at startup

bad air/fuel mixture could cause rod knock like that, which is a for of backlash or whip like action. Detonation, like very poor grade of fuel. IF your engineis running really rich, the extra rich fuel goes by your piston rings and thins out your engine oil. If you have a bad ROD bearing, it is probably TOO LATE. CLEAN YOUR THROTTLE BODY and IAC valve, since these things fine tune your FUEL/AIR mixture and PREVENT rich running. GOOD LUCK!!

Hard to start on cold mornings. Battery and altenator are OK

I think you are missing the "cold start routine". The engine temperature sensor activates a computer circuit which changes the fuel mix and timing for the first few seconds to a minute or so on the startup.

Either it is failing to sense the engine is cold or the ECU is not using the info the temperature sensor is giving it. Go to a major autoparts store like Autozone and ask for the temperature sensor that controls the startup cycle. There may be a second sensor which just controls the dash gauge and you do not want that one if they are not one and the same.

I hope you find my soluiion useful. Please rate my info.

Startup hestitation, check engine light 2006 Ion3

Since your "check engine" light is on you can get a free scan at Autozone or Oreillys. They can sell you a part and may have a diagram about where it fits. Just speculating it may be a coolant temperature sensor.

It sounds like you are not getting into the Cold Start mode.

Spa went over set temperature with loc message

How far over the set temperature did the hot tub go?

A hot tub may sometimes exceed the set temperature slightly especially if it's well insulated and has been on a long filtration cycle.

'Loc' usually means that the keyad is locked or partially locked. Check your quick reference guide and it will tell you how to remove the keypad lock.

Wont idle when cold. Especially on cooler mornings. Eventually it works fine. Sometimes it will clear after a hi rpm rev.

have someone check the engine temperature sensor to see what temperature it is telling the computer,if it is not telling the computer the correct temp, the computer won't give the engine more fuel on cold mornings

Fridge side cant keep 100 percent cold

Have you noticed a big difference lately in the cooling of the cold food section? Any time you open doors to a refrigerator or freezer you allow them to exchange room temperatures with inside ambient temperatures. The only time you should be concerned is when these temperatures begin to remain abnormally high. Many times the temperature rises in the kitchen while diner is prepared. Those temperatures also affect how long your refrigerator need to run to maintain the temperature settings you select. Your refrigerator has something called an Adaptive Defrost Control. If you should have problems with it you would notice a big difference.Another thing that can help is to make sure the condenser coils below refrigerator remain clean and clear of dust. The warm air circulating below your refrigerator is as important as the cold air inside. As for the vents that lead from freezer to cold food section they sometime become obstructed especially if they have a damper inside and frost locks the damper shut. If I missed something here please let me know, Thank You, Sea Breeze

Irratic idle at startup

No check engine light? You have a couple of sensors that may be causing that, coolant temperature, incoming air temperature sensor to name 2 of them. Personally I'd have it put on a scan tool & remove the guess work. Some parts places will do it for free, well as long as you buy the parts there.

Van won't start in early morning when it's cold.

I'd be real tempted to replace coolant temperature sensor, as it sends signal to ECM regarding engine temperature and fuel requirements pertaining to that temperature. For example, it tells ECM that engine is cold, send more fuel for cold start, but if it's defective, doesn't tell ECM to do so, or gives ECM the signal that engine is already warm, and doesn't require that extra fuel now for start up.
