First make sure the battery has been put in the right way round as this camera allows the battery to go in 2 ways which is a bad design fault on Kodak's part.

Does the charging light come on. if it does the battery is charging is it plugged into a usb hub if so the camera will not charge. it has to be connect to the computers usb port directly.also some computers have a built in usb hub witch cause this to happen. try using the usb plugs in the back they are diffrent addresses. also check you cable for any damage. I thing about USB is they are touchy pains. I had to fully reload my computer twice because of a USB problem best thing to do is get a seperate charger for your battery and a memory card reader to transfer your pictures.

What make and model camera?
Not all USB ports put out enough current to charge a battery. If you're connecting through a hub, try bypassing it and connecting directly. If you have another USB port, try that.

How do i know if my sl600 is charging? I have it pluggedin with the usb cable attached to the ac adapter. and the tiangular shape is orange. Does this mean its charging and how do i know when its complete

I'm glad to provide the information about charging the Camera. You can charge the Camera either using AC adapter or by connecting to the USB port on the Computer. Please make sure that you're not connecting AC adapter to the Camera when connecting to USB port on the computer. You can connect the Camera to the computer for more than 150 minutes(two and half hours) to fully charge the battery.

You can check the status of the LED on the AC Adapter while charging with the AC Adapter.

I Have Misplaced My Charger And I Am Wondering If There Is Any Other Way To Charge It Like Maybe In The Computer?

Yes, you can charge the battery by connecting the camera to a powered USB port. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries, and you want to connect it directly, not through a hub. Alternatively you can use a USB charger that plugs into a wall outlet; such devices are available for cell phones.

Usb device not recognized

Assuming a healthy camera battery, capable of holding a charge - try another cable / USB port / Computer first.

When it's same on all USB ports and a different computer, wiggle the USB connector on the camera carefully. If the connection is ok at some point, it's the camera USB port making bad connection.

Can i charge my camera with the usb

No, charging the battery via USB port is not possible with your Fuji Finepix Z20fd Digital Camera. The USB port can be used for just 2 purposes: (1) connect to USB-compatible printer (to directly print pix), and (2) connect to a PC with a USB port (to upload pix). The only way to charge the camera's batttery
looks like the separate "supplied battery charger."

Check out page iv. of the onine version of your camera"s Users Manual.

How do u charge a kodak 7.2 camera, using the usb chord connected to the computer?

Use the USB cord to connect the camera to a powered USB port on a computer. Do not connect it through a USB hub. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge the batteries.

Does the usb cable for the Kodak m341 camera charge the battery too

Yes, assuming the USB port puts out enough current to charge the battery. Not all computer USB ports do so. Do not connect the camera through a hub, but directly to the computer.

WILL CAMERA CHARGE CONNECTED THROUGH USB INTO THE COMPUTER OR IS THE DOCK FOR THE CHARGER THE ONLY WAY

The S51c will NOT charge through the USB port. The camera does not include any charging circuitry, which is why it comes with a separate battery charger. Connecting the USB port only drains the battery faster, as the camera now has to communicate with the computer (even if only to say it has nothing to say).

The included charger isn't the only way... you can get third-party chargers that will let you charge, for example, from a car cigarette lighter. But you do need to use a charger, not the USB port.

Charging camera

Are you using the front usb ports on your computer? My computer's front usb ports were not able to charge my camera, but the rear usb ports were able to (the charging light should stay on if it's charging correctly). I'm not an expert on this stuff, so maybe there's a power output difference between your frontal and rear usb ports.

Also, on the CD there was a camera connection driver. You might try installing that and see if that makes a difference?
