Question about Denon AVR-4308CI Receiver
I have problem with HDMI connection in my Denon 4308CI, I checked firmware update and I did it from the website.(Before the update everyting worked fine)
When the update was completed, I got the message that the status is ok.
But later I had problem with my PC connections - DVI to HDMI ----> No signal when I connect the PC to TV
Everything works fine but when is connect to the receiver i get NO SIGNAL. (Resolution in TV is 1360x768 PC Video Card Evega 8800 GTS !!!).
Now when I change resolution on video card to HD,SD 1080i,1360x768 it WORKS, but this is not correct - should be 1368x768 PC) so basically when I use all HD,SD resolution i see pictures on my TV. PC
resolution doesnt work..
I tried to: restart denon processor, unplug power cord, check connection, and reinstall drivers but nothing helps me.
Also I called Denon supports a They told me that "this update doesn't change anything with the video and that I NEED TO CALL to producer of my video card or technical suppot ay Nvidia
It does't make any sense because when i connect to tv everything works fine
Any ideas how to fix it?

When you say the the input clicks on/off, does the sound cut out? I suspect that the protection circuit is kicking in. Can you please post the connections you have? # of speakers connected etc?

SOURCE: HDMI XBOX360 Elite -"No Signal"
The connection order can be a key issue as to whether or not the HDMI
signals will pass through the system. For best results the receiver
should be turned on first, then the source device(s) and then the
display. The reason for this has to do with getting the equipment to
handshake properly for the HDCP protocol.
If HDMI video will not pass through your receiver, you may with to just connect the xbox using the component cables. Since component will pass through 720p and your TV is 1080i you should expect the same qualtiy and a more crisp picture.

SOURCE: No video on Denon avr 688
After days of frustration the real problem was with the cable box. It needed a firmware update. Following forum advice I disconnected the cable box power cord for a few minutes, reconnected it, allowed the cable box to reinitialize. Turned off receiver and TV. Turned TV back on and set it to HDMI connection, turned on receiver and all worked fine. Great picture and sound.( Needed to buy an optical cable to go from the cable box to the receiver to get sound from the speaker system. )--the dirtybird

hello i believe your problem is that you are trying to downconvert from hdmi to component connections and Denon receivers will not do that.
I have a 4310 and I know it will UPconvert from an analog signal to HDMI but won't do it the other way around.
you may have to use component inputs for all your equipment. You will also have to go into the receivers menu and designate which signal is being used for each component as it won't auto select between analog and digital signals when it comes to video.
hope that helps
